Hello bees! Longtime lurker, first time post! Anywho, here I go!
So I fell in love with a Simon G. ring which I found at the Robbins Brothers’ website. Popped in to the store with the boyfriend to check it out, only to find out that this ring is being discontinued. Luckily, a few other store locations had the ring so they’re sending it there so that I can take a look!
Cheryl, the lovely lady that helped us, informed us that if I fell in love, that we shouldn’t hesitate to make a move on the ring, which totally made sense to us (especially to me, because that means I get to wear it sooner!! Hehe). However, she also told us that since this style is knife edge AND pave AND milgrained, that I’d have a very difficult time finding a different wedding band to go with it. So, we should probably just order the matching wedding band as well before it’s completely discontinued and I’d have to pay more to get it specially made.
I don’t think I want it to match though! Lately I’ve been obsessed with:
A) Having a “gap” (which, if i put in a 6-prong head, would probably cause a gap with my grandma’s 1-carat old Euro cut)
B) Eternity bands
C) Ring stacks
D) White gold engagement ring with yellow gold bands.
I’m pretty sure my obsessions won’t change anytime soon.
Does anyone have this engagement ring or something similar? If so, did you get the matching wedding ring?
Does anyone have any suggestions for a wedding ring that would go well with this engagement ring?
Thanks for reading!! I’m gonna go back to watching Walking Dead and patiently await response. =)
^^ Here’s the ring! Ugh. Love.

I think it is! Just make sure that you stay within the same feel for all of the pieces.

@happyxmichelle: Oh my god, I love that engagement ring! Its stunning! Sorry for not being much help, but I would totally wear the matching band to complete that set. I say this because I feel that the engagement ring with its design and milgrain is unique enough without having to mix it up with a mismatched band or set of stacked rings.
Some of the best mismatched sets I’ve seen look so good because the band of the engagement ring itself iso simple. Simple ering band with stacked rings and a little gap would be gorgeous. But your future ering band is already so different and beautiful, i think too many stacked rings or gap would look like too much is going on. Thats just my personal opinion though

@happyxmichelle: That’s beautiful! I love the mismatched band. The matching wedding band would be a little much for my taste but it looks perfect like this. Go for it! 🙂
Oh, and you might get more responses if you add a poll! 🙂
P.S.: Welcome to the Hive!
ETA: Oh, silly me, I’ve just figured out this probably IS the matching wedding band. Sorry, blonde moment! lol Well, I love it! But I think this ring would look gorgeous with a plain band too if that’s a look that you like – even in yellow or rose gold, maybe?

I like the set and would probably order the band just to see how it looks together. Then you can decide. If it were me, I’d buy the band because I might/would regret not buying if I couldn’t find anything else that compliments that gorgeous ering!

I’d buy the band then just add more rings if you want to stack! The band is gorgeous!

Thanks for all the responses!
I went ahead and set up a poll, thanks for the suggestion, MsMeow!
The more people respond in favor of the matching band, the more I’m leaning towards it! I’m still open to everyone’s opinions. Can’t wait to see it in person, I’m sure that would help me make the decision a lot.

Yay, another Simon G lady!
What a beautiful setting! I think you should get the matching band and you can always get other rings to stack with it when the mood strikes!

@happyxmichelle: My friend has this ring! It is so beautiful. She did not get the matching band and her set looks great. She has a gap. But honestly you cant go wrong with this ring. Besides my own ring, this is my favorite ring that I have seen in person. Just stunning.

@Lizabean: I’m glad SOMEONE has seen it in person!! =)
Out of curiosity, what type of wedding band did your friend choose?

@happyxmichelle: What about something that’s similar but different? I don’t know how it would look with the knife edge, but something like this
or something that had that concept might be a really cool way to mis-match!
FWIW, I think the matching band looks awesome- I don’t think you can go wrong either way!

@Audrey2_sings: Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely look into something similar. It looks like it would complement it well. =)

They got it in! I took one look at it in person and fell in love. Honestly, I think I’m just gonna get the matching band. I’ll just order it when we have the funds. Thanks for your help, ladies!
Sorry about the huge photos! These are on my phone. I’m waiting for the jeweler to put the 6-prong head and the real diamond on it…this is still the cubic zirconia. What do you think?

Get whatever makes you the most happy! I, personally, plan to have a few to switch out (all inexpensive). Right now I have a band that matches my husbands, but I also have one that matches my e-ring.
