How many chair covers did you order?  That sound like alot of cash for a deposit and the rental.

I opted for a location that was higher end so I didn’t have to rent any extras like chair covers or linens.  My venue has the nice chivari chairs.  If you want to cut costs, can you just do bows instead of full chair covers?  Can you rent nicer chairs perhaps?

We are renting several items for our reception, including linens.  I didn’t have to pay any sort of security deposit.

I had to pay a security deposit for linen rental as well as shipping both ways since the companies were not local. Pretty standard from everyone I contacted. BTW…you can buy them pretty cheap,so that’s something you may want to consider.

We opted to purchase for my sister’s wedding and bought 150 chair covers for $2 each.

My mom ordered mine (sorry, not sure where but it was tableclothsandlinens maybe, I will check with her when she gets off work).

They were only $2.25 with free shipping, we already sold them to our venue as they don’t have any at all for almost what we paid for them.  A girlfriend of mine got married in May and sold hers for almost what she paid on CL.

I will pm you this afternoon with where she got them.

@EffieTrinket: Craigslist. It really is a great place to find things like chair sashes and tablecloths. Since the big wedding season has ended a lot of things are on sale on craigslist now.

@bells: I rented chair covers, sashes and everything else you could imagine (linens, cutlery etc) and we didnt have to pay a deposit. The deal was if anythign was wrecked they would charge our credit card that was on file…

Hi!  I just thought I’d throw out another opinion…take it or leave it.  If I were you, I’d look into renting the chair covers and sashes.  Unless you have the time and “girl power”, it can be quite time consuming to get the wrinkles out, place them on the chairs, and tie the sashes.  We payed $600 for rental of 250 chair covers, sashes, delivery, set up, & take down AND felt is was totally worth it!

P.S. The deposit that the company is asking for seems extreme, but the rate for the chair covers seems decent.
