I think it’s completely fine for you to ask her to use the originals.  I’m sure she is just trying to do what she thinks will look best. Since you have above average knowledge of photoshop, you can let her know that.  Personally, I would ask her to send you a printed version of both options (maybe the halo just makes you look normal when printed).

Your original photo does appear darker….maybe she made an executive decision that it was too dark.

However, you did tell her not to edit it, so she shouldnt have.  These are for your wedding, the most important day of your life. From what youve showed your pic looks very nice. I kniw its awkward, but voice your concerns.

P.S. I think it would look very nice in black and white like you said…i love outdoor b&w pictures.

Congrats and good luck…keep us posted on what happens 🙂

I’m with @MrsOnorato2b:  that the picture looks too dark in yours, but the editing she did was atrocious.

I think it’s fine to ask her to only use your original photo, but clearly she felt that the picture you sent wouldn’t turn out well. Perhaps you can ask her why she edited it, figure out the issue, and hire someone to edit it properly for you before re-sending it in.

your picture is dark but her editing didnt make it any better at all. Its your preference since its your money so just tell her what you want her to do or else youll be wasting money on something you dont like

I’m very familiar with Photoshop too and I agree with you that her editing looks odd. There are much better ways to make sections of an image pop than with the dodge tool.

I would ask her to send you two samples; one with the photo she edited, and one with the original photo you sent her. Her monitor’s color settings might be different from yours and the image could look completely different on her computer versus yours. The best way to starighten it out is to see the actual print.

Good luck!
