I’m attending a bridal shower this weekend that was put together in about 10 days for my friend’s fiance (who has since become a friend of mine). She lives out of town and decided she was coming very last minute. I was torn with what to get her. Everything I liked online cost about $25 JUST for the shipping with the time crunch.
On her wedding registry she has a jewelry box. It’s in stock at my local store and I can walk in and get it. I don’t know squat about registry etiquette. But I know that the groom clearly won’t be using a jewelry box.
So I ask, Is the jewelry box an ok shower gift?

Definitely go for it! I tend to think of the shower more as a “gift for the bride” thing anyway, versus the wedding which is definitely about both the bride & groom.

I say “yes”.
When you think about it, a jewelry box isn’t really that different than one of ring-dishes (the ones about 4 inches across with the post in the middle to put rings on; usualy silver or crystal).

Go for it!
Call the store where she’s registered and get them to check it off her registry so she doesn’t get several of them. That’s what my friends did who didn’t have the stores I was registered at nearby.

I would also say go for it. I thought shower gifts were often more bride oriented because people give things like lingerie and advice on how to be a good wife. Hmmm…now I’m wondering if I’ve been gifting incorrectly this whole time…

I think this is a great idea!
