Over nail polish?  This isn’t a big deal.  Are you requesting that they get their nails done?  If not, buy them each a bottle of the polish to use on the day of.

I personally don’t think that is a crazy request.

 @KristenGotMarried:  great idea!

@vanilla44:  Are the bridesmaids wearing open toed shoes?

Are they required to get a pedicure or are natural toes/self painted toes ok?

I think if you are requiring them to get a pedicure specifically for your wedding and in a specific color then she may be a bit miffed you aren’t paying for it. Especially if she is the type to always get fun colors or never paint her toes at all.

However, if a bride asked me to do that, I’d have no problem with it.

I don’t think that’s an unreasonable request.

I think it might be a good idea for you to buy one or two of the color you want so they can do the toes themselves.  As long as you aren’t requiring specific pedis for them (and if you are, you should foot the bill) I think that’s fine.

Given that every wedding these days has a photo of the bride’s and/or the bridal party’s feet, I think she could be more understanding.

It’s a little strange but it’s nail polish and one day so I think as a bridesmaid I would do it.

I don’t think it’s that bad.  Truthfully, very few people will probably notice their toenail color, but maybe mention you want to get a picture or two of all of your shoes/feet, and buy them each a bottle of the color you want. 🙂

Um, it seems a bit picky to me. I mean picking a dress for them is one thing but to determine what color polish they wear? I wouldn’t, but that’s me. That being said, if this is really important to you then ask. I wouldn’t be too forceful as I feel this is a bit of an unusual request, but if they are okay with it, then it’s fine. The best route, I think, would be to pay for them to get pedis and then you can pick the polish. You could make it fun girls event. Good luck and enjoy your hot pink!

@vanilla44:  there is nothing wrong with that! maybe buy them the color you want them to wear as part of their gifts

i think this is what we call minutae and it seems like a really small issue to focus on and one that sends you into “demanding” territory. no one is going to notice. no one.

@vanilla44:  Then I think your request is totally reasonable.

I like the idea of getting them all a bottle of polish in a color you like so they can do their toes themselves if they want to.
