KapOct18:  6 hours is not a lot of time – i had my photographer for 9hours.

The online gallery is for all the photos (e-shoot and wedding?) And does the disc give you ALL pictures? Are they all edited?

How much is he charging you? DO you plan to get a videographer?

Seems like a pretty good deal to me. I’m paying $2100 for 2 photographers for 9 hours, all editted images on disk with print rights, 8×10 album, and retouching on all of the photos on the disk.

We went with a different gal, but another one I looked into was a straight $1750 for any hours that you wanted her for. If the one we went with hadn’t been available – I would have gone with her just for the price and no limit of time.

Our photographer is $850 for 7 hours, and then an additional $100 for every hour after that. Right now, I’m thinking at least 10 hours of time with her, which will still be less than $1300. We also get a disc with all images. If we had done our engagement session with her too, it would have been $145 extra (we did someone else and spent $80).

It may depend on your region though.

Sounds reasonable to me! I paid $4000 for 2 photographers for engagement session, 8 hours of wedding, all images retouched in color and black & white. It seems like a lot of money but we have over 700 pictures and I think it was completely worth it for 2 really experienced photographers!

KapOct18:  I think that sounds pretty good.  Our photographer actually left 3 hours into our reception and I think that worked well.  I didn’t really need or want a ton of reception pictures, and the later in the night it got, the more we would have had the same five photos of the same 50ish people talking at the same tables.

KapOct18:  I think this is a pretty good deal. Ours was $3000 for 8 hrs, 2 photographers, an online gallery, $50 print credit, and an engagement shoot. Of course all retouching/editing, unlimited shots, and released rights on a disc.

She was the 2nd cheapest we found out of probably 15 in Houston, if that says anything.

No album, though. That is the one thing I wanted I couldn’t afford, but I will just order one from an online print shop after for literally 1/10 the price.

Sounds reasonable to me. Here’s what we are getting with our photographer.

<div>$2000.00 </div>
<div>8 hours of coverage </div>
<div>2 photographers</div>
<div>You will get 300-500 edited images.  </div>
<div>In total, the average amount of photos given to a wedding client is about 1500 images. </div>
<div>I provide both edited and unedited on a flash drive. </div>
<div>Engagement session is free.</div>

I don’t think 6 hours is enough time, I do think 6 hours for $1700 is reasonable.

We’re paying $4000 for 8 hours.

That’s quite inexpensive for a quality photographer.

KapOct18:  That’s very reasonable. Just make sure you ask to see a full wedding that she’s photographed.
