I think that is reasonable… I am pretty cheap lol… but I was really bargain hunting and I paid 550 for my dress and veil. I guess it all depends on the qaulity and what not, but if you feel like it was worth that, and you are happy, thats what counts, right? Laughing

It seems pretty reasonable… Every bridal store here charges $200-300 for veils, so bloody insane. It is more than I paid because I am cheap and got an eBay veil ($9) and a replica dress ($240) 🙂

I agree with PP it is definitely not a holy [email protected]# amount – that for me is in the $3000 range but again I am cheap compared to some hahahaha

on say yes to the dress i just gasp when ppl buy dresses for 5-10K.  some are not worth the cost and i just think you can find a beautiful dress within the $1000-$2000 range. a friend of mine bought a replica online from china for $200 and the quality is very cheap. your price is very reasonalbe for ur mori lee and bel aire.  i got two dresses and a cathedral vail for $2600.  this is with discounts that i asked for … got 25% off on one, 20% on the other and 50% off my vail.  always ask for discounts.  im very happy with my purchase.

Sounds reasonable to me!!!!  It really depends on if you got what you really want for that price!

I spent $300 on my ceremony dress, and plan on spending about $200 on my reception dress…I also spent $40 on my reception fascinator, and the fascinator I want for my ceremony will be considerably less…..

@bump:  I’m August 2013 and I already bought my dress. Its not too early as long as you are absolutely sure you won’t change your mind. You *might* have saved money by doing this because they often raise prices at the beginning of a new year. So you *might* have avoided a price increase vs shopping in 2013. Just be careful not to let your weight change dramatically and not to look at other dresses to avoid dress regret. Also you avoided falling in love with a dress that *might* be discontinued between now and your wedding, as styles aren’t around forever.

ETA: But most people will say you bought it too early.

Depends on the budget obviously, but I definitely think it’s reasonable! My dress needed customizations for religious purposes (sleeves, etc.) and it came to more than we had wanted to spend and my veil was $250 more. It was more than $1100 in total. I would say you did well 🙂
