I’m in the camp that believes wearing red to a wedding isn’t the way to go.

I think between the loud color, tight fit, and the mesh it looks more like a club dress vs a dress for a wedding. I don’t mind red to a wedding, though.

Many guests at my wedding wore red and people in my area don’t mind. But I live in a large city and we aren’t conservative. It’s 2014!

Hm, maybe if you dress it up (and cover up a little) with a nice shrug, but I think otherwise it’s a bit casual

I’d wear the hell out of it, assuming your crowd isn’t the “ANYONE WHO WEARS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A BEIGE SHAPELESS SACK TO A WEDDING IS A WHORE” crowd, bud I’d also make sure I had a shawl or something in case it was cold, or in case a house of worship required covered shoulders.

ETA: I will agree that for an evening event that was going to be a bit on the fancier side that it might be a touch casual.

Some people might think it’s a little flashy but if you love it go for it.

Personally I see it more as a romantic, fancy dinner date dress.

I’ve worn red to weddings before. Honestly, I’m in the camp that the only thing that is truly off limits is pure white. And even then, I had a couple girls wear white dresses at my wedding and it didn’t even bother me (though before the wedding I always said it would).

I personally think that dress is a little flashy for a wedding.

So this happened: a woman showed up wearing a red sequined skin tight evening gown to my friend’s wedding. It was scandalous. your dress is nowhere near that. But it is a little casual unless it’s a daytime event.

I’m not sure what type of wedding it is, but it seems a little clubby to me. I wouldn’t do it. Red didn’t work for Scarlett and I just think wearing red to a wedding is just as bad as white. But i’m old school.

You look great in it though! I’d save it for another ocassion. Have the hubby take you out for a nice dinner 😉

Absolutely. Why wouldn’t it be? You look hottt! It’s not too revealing at all. I recommend a nude peep toe heel or a scrappy gold or silver heel, I can’t tell if your necklace is gold or silver.

I think it looks great! What shoes will you wear with it?

When I’m choosing what to wear to someone’s wedding, my basic thought process goes something like: “Is this dress a wedding dress? No? OK, I can wear it to a wedding”. I don’t get all these rules of no red, or black, or a light colour that might look white in pictures, or a dress with a pattern that has some white in it, etc etc….I’m also of the opinion that it’s 2014 and wearing red doesn’t make you a flashy heathen, but that’s just me :p
