I think it's cute to use the bird names. It's great that you have a theme, and you should have fun with it! I'm getting married at a country club, so we decided to use famous golf course names.
I think it's a cute idea. It defiantly fits with your theme, and I think it's more interesting than numbers...
I think it's very cute. You could even take it a step further and use the state birds for places you and your FH have visited! I have to say, though, that I'd be tempted (if you're not somehow emotionally connected to the bird list you've posted) to use birds with a more romantic, gentle, or exotic sound to their names.
Good idea!!
I love the bird names! So cute.
@tag117 ~ I like the idea of using the famous golf course names. We are getting married on a golf course, so this would work perfectly for us.
Bird names are cool. which this gave me an idea for my wedding. LOL. not to use your idea of bird names though.
I think it would add somethng personal to the wedding in that is shows who you are.
At first I thought, use the numbers also, but then I remembered--wedding table numbers are never in any sort of order!
Use the bird names. It's adorable and memorable. A friend themed their tables to different wineries they have visited--complete with grapes and a bottle of the wine (now that's forsight) it was a great topic of conversation and made the tables memorable.
As for birds...I recently found out that my friend's wedding was "bird-themed." They had birds everywhere. ...it was a year and a half ago, and I don't remember the birds at all. but if I was sitting at the Sparrow table, I'd certainly remember.
Oh, and don't forget to serve "Tequila Mockingbirds"...ha!
Best wishes.

A brief description of the wedding:
All of our flowers are really earthy and natural- they have a very gardeny feel to them. Our colors are moss green, chocolate brown, and lavender. We are having it in the daytime in May. Our guest book is little cards that people can write notes on and then drop into an antique bird cage. We even found these adorable pencils at Anthropologie that look like twigs. My cake topper is two little birds in a nest, and I am using the "Port Antonio" design from White Aisle for my table cards:

I am thinking of using bird names as table names. Specifically:
Sweetheart Table- Lovebird
1. Swiftlet
2. Kingfisher
3. Kookaburra
4. Whip-poor-will
5. Blackbird
6. Sparrow
7. Nightingale
8. Goldfinch
9. Oriole
10. Bird-of-Paradise
11. Chickadee
12. Meadowlark
13. Cardinal
14. Mockingbird
15. Starling
Is this totally stupid? Is it too much bird related stuff? I like the bird motif, I think it contributes to the over all "outside in a garden or the woods in the spring" feel that I've been going for for the wedding, but I'm worried that my guests will think it is dumb, so naturally I must run it by the hive first :)
