So I got this tattoo about 1 1/2 years ago and it has a lot of meaning to my H and I. I got it originally with the intention of adding more to it or shading it in. But now that I’ve had it for a while, the simple outline has grown on me and I’m not sure what to do.
Should I add something to it? Or is it complete?
(This picture was right after I got the tattoo, obviously looks a bit different now)

@mylittleviolett: I like the simplicity of it as is, but it’s really up to you. I don’t think it looks unfinished.

@letigre: Thanks, I do too. I guess I’ve just questioned it because people always ask me if I’m going to shade it in and I always tell them no. But then I started thinking about it and I’m like, wait should I shade it in?

@mylittleviolett: I like the way it is.

@mylittleviolett: It doesn’t look bad, but it does look unfinished. Maybe don’t shade it in, but add some shadows to the outside? Maybe some color?

I like it the way it is! Beautiful!

@Silly_love: Thank you!
@HonoraryNerd: Thanks for the advice 🙂 Any ideas?
@misschickpea: Thank you 🙂

@mylittleviolett: Maybe something like this where it blends outwards from the lines
Or something like this. Sort of the opposite, where just the inner edges are shaded, but not solid black.
I think it would look really cool to have the grey shadowing on the outside and then some colored shadowing on the inside. Talk to an artist and see what they’d recommend or what they can do. I can’t tell how big it is from the picture.

i love the simplicty of the line work. Its delicate and dainty and IMO you should leave it as is 🙂

I think its simplicity makes it really pretty.. Don’t change a thing about it!

@mylittleviolett: I like the simple outline. The lines are very clean and well done. I’m afraid that adding shading would just cluter up the simple beauty that you have right now.

@HonoraryNerd: ooo I really like that second one. But I think that tattoo has white outlining instead of black. But I really love the idea of it. I’m going to ask the artist, definitely.
@Yara23: Thank you ladies. I really like the simplicity of it too but I think I will ask the artist and see what he thinks and go from there.
