So...my tastes in music are crazy. Really crazy. Like a combination of power pop, punk pop, indie rock, j-pop, Broadway scores, soundtracks to animated movies, and synthpop. Itunes Genius has a field day with me. Anyways, FI and I have been putting together our music, and it's turning out...well, all over the place, frankly.

I guess my question is whether or not everything hangs together properly, or if our iPod wedding will be just a hawt mess.

Prelude: "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" (piano only)

Groom/officiant/groomsmen entrance: "Passing of the Blue Crown"

    Bridesmaids/MOH: "Sakura Kiss for Strings"

Bride's entrance: "Sakura Kiss for Piano"

Unity candle: "Blest Be the Tie that Bind" (piano only)

Recessional: "Theme from Fantasmic!" (since I work there. :) )

Entrance to Reception: "Dance With You" by Bowling for Soup (starting at 2:04)

First Dance: "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas

Bouquet Toss: "Ladies' Choice" from Hairspray

Garter Toss: "Addicted to Love" by Robert Palmer

Cake Cutting: "Sugar, We're Going Down" by Fall Out Boy

Last Dance: "Until the World" by the Afters

Exit: "I Love You" by the Pipettes

Our dance music is in two parts. The first part is all swing and '60s pop (Electric Light Orchestra, the Pipettes, Duffy, etc.) and the second part (when I change into my short dress) is more modern stuff (Bowling for Soup, Florence + the Machine, Kate Nash, Friday Night Boys, Journey, Rush, etc.).

Our friends are all familiar with our odd tastes in music, and I don't think it'll really phase them too much. But I was just wondering if, in general, it was just too weird.

I think the only times you have to be concerned about the music being "too eclectic" is during dancing.  During other points it is really just meant to be background.  During dancing, you just have to know what your guests will dance to.  A lot of my guests will only dance to songs they know, so if we picked strange songs our dancefloor would be empty!

That's a good point! I haven't thought of it that way.

I think my guests would be happy. My dad loves ELO, my mom and my grandmother love swing, and my friends all tend to be rpop-rock people. I think they'd be pretty comfortable with things being eclectic.
