calisunshine3404:  Sorry, but in all seriousness, personally, I think that is way too long. I would recommend cutting it down to 2 or 2.5 minutes.

ETA: Our first song was “From this Moment” by Shania Twain and we only played 2 min 10 seconds of the song. It was perfect and not too awkward in length.

Yeah I would cut it down to 2 minutes or a little more. Watching you two sway back and forth for that long would be very boring for guests. Another option is to have the DJ ask guests to join you guys after like 2 minutes for the remainder of the song.

Way too long, especially if you’re planning to do other spotlight dances.

@calisunshine3404:  Ours was about 2/2.5 mins and that was definitely long enough, and we are actually dancers so it was a proper routine. Instead of cutting the song short though, you could get the bridal party, parents and then the rest of the guests to stand up at a certain point and dance too?

    Stare at a clock for 4 1/2 minutes.  You’ll see it’s a long time.

I think it’s long.    We had a 4.something minute song, but half way through, we had the DJ announce to ask everyone else to join us to complete the song.  2.something minutes was plenty for us to get a few shots of us and not have to cut the song off awkwardly short or bore anyone.  Maybe if we had a nice choreographed dance that was actually interestin to watch, that’d be be ok, but we were just the swaying type.

@calisunshine3404:  if you really are in love with the song then go for it. personally i would cut it down, but its your wedding so technically you can do whatever you want!!! I dont plan on goin over 3 minutes for mine though.

personally i think having a full song is fine! who cares if the guests are bored for a couple of minutes? i think its good to have those minutes to talk to your new husband because you don’t have much time in the day otherwise

This is such good info, our song is about 2.5 min and I was worried that it was going to be too short. Glad to know it’s the right length!
