Need some input! We are catering our own wedding reception for about 75 guests.
at 8 pm. We will welcome everybody with coffee / tea and some sweet treats, chocolate / creampuffs / mini cupcakes
at: 8:45 pm. we will serve a selection of cheese on a platter with some crackers (will be served by staff walking trough the crowd)
at 9:30 pm we are having a food truck where everybody can order soms fries and snacks (typical dutch snacks) He will be serving for about an hour.
at 11:00 pm we will have a cake buffet, all different types of cake and cookies
at 11:45 pm we will serve a selection of cheese of a platter with some crackers (will be served by staff walking trough the crowd)
at 12 again some coffee / tea
people can drink sodas / beer / red and white wine / coffee / tea and most likely one or two signature cocktails.
Is this too much?? And if you also did you own wedding reception, what did you serve your guests?

Sounds good, the only thing would be the second cracker and cheese platters later at night. I don’t think you would really need those again.

I think it sounds good. I’m guessing since it’s so late people will eat something (light dinner? big, late lunch?) beforehand? I’d be starving if I had to wait until 9pm to eat.

I think it is a little much. With 70 people it would take 15-30 minutes for everyone to get what they wanted to eat & consume it, by then your hitting the next round of food already. Also, not sure how i feel about the sweets before the cheese- it seems like that might skew the palate a little and make the cheese taste funny?
Personally, I would skip the first set & just serve coffee/tea, and skip the last set of cheeses & crackers. I LOVE me some cheese, but twice in one night following sweets I dunno about that… LOVE the food truck idea though!!!

@kes18: no no…people will be told that it’s a non-dinner party, so they most likely will be having dinner before they show up, everything here is just jummy to the tummy!
I’ll skip the second round of cheese…I don’t think we’ll need that! Thanks you guys!
