I've always loved the "Lover's Waltz" song from Legends of the Fall. Unfortunately, it's by the same composer as the song that was played at my grandpa's funeral last year. They sound sort of similar-- I had my mom say she couldn't hear the similarity, but my sister said it reminded her of the song played at Grandpa's funeral. What do you think? The links are below. Do they sound too much alike, or am I overthinking it? I would love to walk down to the aisle to this, because it reminds me of my fiance and his farm, but I definitely do not want to bring that up if it would make my grandma sad.

It doesn't sound the same to me, but I don't know anything about music.

I think the songs sound different.  They're both beautiful songs.

Good! Maybe I just know they are by the same composer and that is what worries me! Thanks!

Those songs are by the same composer but they sound very different.  The Lover's Waltz sounds more sweet and lovely.  Ashokan Farewell is much more wistful and sorrowful.  As a musican, I've played both!  I've played The Lover's Waltz at many weddings.  I love it!
