So, i work in the most boring office ever and nobody is dressing up for Halloween tomorrow. But I have a cute orange work appropriate dress that’d I love to wear with black tights and heels. Here’s a picture of what it looks like from the knee down..
It looks cuter in real life…promise. Anywhoo, my question is…since these are technically fishnets (kinda) are they inappropriate for work?? My dress goes to my knees so i don’t think it’s too hookerish but I just wanted to make sure…franks!
ps. I do have regular black tights that I could wear…I just like these better lol

For Halloween? totally appropriate, not too trashy, a little fun and in the spirit. I think people will get a kick out of it and you’ll get lots of fun comments. And I work for a very conservative bank, so I know what you mean.

On another day, I might express doubt since it does look a little costumy, but for Halloween I think people will really like it.

Sorry – I voted before I saw it was for Halloween. Change mine to it’s fine! 🙂

Any other day, no. Halloween, yes 🙂

What kind of office is it? Do you see clients on a regular basis? Are you business casual or business formal?
that would not fly in my office because we are a “business formal” office with clients coming in and out all day.
At my old job, we had costume contests. It really just depends on the office atmosphere.
PS I voted yes I think they are appropriate and cute for Halloween. Wish I could do something like that in my office.

I think as long as the dress you are wearing is work appropriate, the tights and shoes are fine. Now, if you come in a skimpy dress, that’s another story!

Ok, I voted yes but I have to say it depends on how conservative your office really is. I work in a very conservative industry. I bought some awesome tights ( kind of like the ones you have on)so I thought. I have never worn fishnets and was really not knowledgable on them. Anyways wore the “tights” with a very conservative black dress closed toed heels and my boss commented. I was mortified and immediately took them off. I know its Halloween but only you know how truely uptight they are. BTW I love the shoes!

My boss and I share office space with several other accounting companies and a republican senator…lol so it’s pretty conservative. But I don’t ever have any interaction with clients and I sit it the back of the office away from everybody…so the only people who would see it would probably be my boss, and maybe one or two people in the kitchen when i’m grabbing coffee.
It’s a toss up. I’m going to show my FH tonight and see what he says. Thanks for the input everyone 🙂
