I think the current decor is lovely, but if you can afford to stretch your budget...the bamboo arbor is more romantic and has a "wow" factor that the plants do not. It is gorgeous!
I love the arbor! It just looks gorgeous! I looked at a lot of beach wedding decorations & every one I had the option on choosing I always liked the ones with the arbors the best.
:-) YES! I know what you mean, but I think that an extra $250 is worth it as that bamboo arbor is amazing and super romantic! I would definitely fit that in
I'm really picky about this stuff (add-ons that cost hundreds of dollars), but as soon as I saw this... I voted YES!!! Your ceremony is so important and you'll be watching it on video and looking at pictures forever. I think this is something I would cut something else out to have.
My venue wants to charge $500 for candles in the atrium of the venue... would love them, but no thanks : ) Yours is definately worth the $$$
Btw, my favorite part of the arbor is the draping white fabric blowing in the wind.
@kitzy: Yes, this one is destination, but it's in Destin, FL, and we live in Houston, TX. So it's about a 11 hour drive away. We just decided we're driving to save my dress from being smashed in the overhead bin on the airplane, and to save about $500.
We had a very similar "arch" and it is by far the best part of my ceremony pictures. I think that made the cost (although we made ours and it was less than $250) really worth it.
Wow - thanks for the responses!! They are actually charging $550 for this, but that's up from only $300 with the "fern crescent". I guess I'm just stuck in the mindset of "wow that's beautiful, but it's SO not worth $550". LOL
@franks.katie: PS I love the idea of you two roadtripping to your wedding.
@franks.katie:ok if you're driving, you can totally bring your own bamboo poles and diy this. look up how to make a chuppah - it has a very similar structure.
go for it. I think it is definitely worth it. It is beautiful and totally worth it! I dont think you would regret it!
What about doing away with the ferns and only using the arbor?
It is so beautiful, that you don't need the other decor!!
I am on a budget too and even though it is very pretty, I would opt out of the $550 for the extra flair!
My dad is making one very similar to that for us for about $80. If you have someone who is at all handy it's a pretty easy project.
No question, ABSOLUTELY!
Sure, $250 will increase your budget but if you ask me, its a small price to pay for your ceremony site to look amazing! I would pay it in a heartbeat.
Yes! It most definitely is! I was expecting to say no to whatever you were asking about before I saw the pictures but I absolutely can't say no to that!
I would make your own chuppah/canopy, if you can. The one you have photographed here is gorgeous, but I've seen it in SO many girls' photos. For that price, wouldn't you want something original?
Maybe there'd be a way to change it up to make it uniquely yours.
It is totally worth it. When deciding on upgrading decorations, think about how many of those decorations will appear in your pictures. As your "altar" for your wedding, this will be in MANY. Is there really even a question then??
Definately get it!! It looks wonderful and i wish we could have something similar

Thanks for all your help, ladies - I just wanted to give you an update. I talked to our planner, and she is going to get us the bamboo arbor for the price of the fern crescent!!!! Major save on our part, and to make it even better, we don't have to pay for an officiant because my aunt just offered to marry us :-) I'm on cloud 9 right now - things are coming together!!
the arbor is georgus! and hey, you only get married once, right? if you want it, don't feel bad about splurging a little bit!
i LOVE it and would def splurge for the arbor. but if you're tied to a budget than i can see it being just as beautiful without it. if you have the $, splurge. if not - don't sweat it, i don't think it's a big detail that you will be sour about post-wedding.
It's beautiful. I voted "yes" :)
Well, if $250 is not going to majorly stress your budget, I'd totally go for it. You've given me a bit of an idea now. I'm going to look and see if my venue offers this. I vote yes for you.
I picked other... because it is gourg! But a tip with Destination Weddings... which I think this is for. If you wait until you get to the resort alot of the time you can haggle with the wedding coordinator and get it for MUCH cheaper!
If you were to rent that in most beachy places in the US, it would cost $500+. THat's a steal!
its beautiful go for it.. it will look amazing in pics. i know budget streatching is no fun but i think this is totally worth it.

Hi Hive!
I know $250 doesn't sound like much, but it's those little things that continue to stretch our budget. So I'm trying to decide if upgrading our ceremony decor from what we currently have, to a bamboo arbor is worth the extra $250. I think the arbor is so gorgeous, and flows with our "simple but elegant" theme. What do you think??
Here is what we have now:
And here is what I really want:
