I don't think three types of flowers is too many at all! Our centerpieces were gerberas & tulips. And the bouts and bouquets were cala lilies & tulips. I think what you have described flows very well. If anything you may want another type of flower or some sort of greenery in there to break things up a bit if it looks too uniform. It just depends on what sort of look you like.
Three types isn't too much, and I think they could work well together. I had 4 types in my boquet alone, you just need the right color scheme and orginazation to make it go together in the way you're envisioning.
I think you can have as many typles as you like as long as they look match well in color and are arranged well. I will definitly be having more than 2 types.
I think the three flowers that you've chosen sound so pretty together. They should flow just fine!
I'm only doing three: peonies, cabbage roses, and ranunculus. I was going to do just peonies, but I had to add more to lower the cost. It's dramatic to have fewer types of flowers. It's going to look wonderful!! Don't worry!
I hope 3 types is not too many, I think my bouquet alone will have 5 types of flowers, then an additional 3 types between centerpeices, alter arrangements, and bridesmaids bouquets for a grand total of at least 8 different types of flowers in shades of blues and purples.

Basically I was looking into alternating pink gerbera daisies and white spider mums as centerpieces on each table, but having the GM bouts and BM bouquets be white carnations and my bouquet being maybe a mixture of two of these kinds of flowers, only in pink. Does this sound ok? Does it "flow"?
