I’m am getting married on the 28th. Everything is basically all set. I just have last minute thoughts. One of them being the people throwing stuff as we leave the church thing. I hadn’t been planning on it and now logistically….I don’t think it’s going to work out. The town we’re getting married in has a parade that day and it goes right by the church at about the same time we’d be getting out. I’d rather have my guests be able to get to their cars and get through the detour and get the the reception than wait around for us.
Would you be confused or feel slighted as a guest if you were at a wedding that skipped that part?

I’m doing heart shaped rice, but no, I don’t think people will care if you don’t do something like that.

As a many-times guest, I hate doing it. Confetti is hard to clean up, rose petals can be slick, and rice is food (I just don’t understand people who would be that wasteful for no reason.) I also once saw a bridesmaid slip on bubble solution from a bubble-wand exit. So I’d feel the last thing in the world from slighted, personally. But as with all things, it’s an individual choice.

I know for ours the church told us DO NOT DO RICE, the birds can’t digest it. They recommended doing bird seed. We did bubbles for ours

11mikesgirl21: I wouldn’t think twice about it! I’ve been to some weddings that have and some that haven’t, and those that haven’t have never stuck out as being strange or felt like something was missing, I didn’t even think about it!
I am partial to the confetti craze that has come back (i’m not sure if it’s just popular again in my area or everywhere) but we can’t have it due to venue rules so we won’t be doing any ‘throwing of stuff’ either! 🙂

Nope. Haven’t seen it in decades.
