My mom keeps telling me that I should put my FI in charge of finding a DJ, but I honestly like having the control, haha! He hasn’t had any input in the wedding, I’m not even sure he knows what the colors are, haha! I’m just hoping he know what day the wedding is, so he will show up! I can definitely tell he’s excited for the wedding, I just know that he doesn’t care about all of the small details and I am 100% OK with that 🙂
What about you, is your FI involved in the planning?

- Wedding: August 2009 - St. Thomas of Villanova Church & the F.U.E.L. House
Yup! Honeymoon is ALL him. He also found our limo, and was the point person for several other of the main vendors. And now, with less than two weeks to go, he’s being an AMAZING help finalizing little things!

He has honeymoon (I know nothing about this one!), hotels for OOT guests, wedding night hotel, rehearsal dinner planning, and dj/entertainment. He has been a champ taking on these tasks and always giving input when we go over the plans.

He’s in charge of finding our DJ and keeping his groomsmen in line! Haha..I’m sure when it gets closer to our date I’ll find more things for him to do!

- Wedding: June 2008 - Winery in the Gold Country
Same here! He handled honeymoon completely, and handled the RD (his parents paid but they are across country, so we needed to handle the logistics here in CA). The honeymoon is a huge responsibility, and it’s nice to leave that in the grooms’ hands! I also made Mr. Peng make the yucky calls, like calling our first photog to cancel him (we went with a dif photog) or to insist to our venue that we needed/deserved to do a tasting before comitting to menu choices.

He had a hand in everything! I trust him most and I think that he has the best style ever. He is completely in charge of negotiating our contracts. He also planned our honeymoon.

All he has to do is show up.
He wasn’t interested in doing anything else!

I reached out for him for help in a few areas, but I don’t think he was “in charge” of anything. Of course he bought his wedding clothes and my wedding band, but otherwise…
Funny: I had him start emailing our photographer when I got tired of the photog being all vague. I felt like I was dating again, trying to “decode” manspeak over email and phone calls! I put my fella in charge of dealing with that mess.

I think I can put him in charge of Alcohol, I KNOW he won’t mess that one up! Haha, I will be assigning that task very soon!

he’s responsible for drafting the ceremony, selecting the music. we decided the menus together.

He’s in charge of negotiations. I hope he’s good at his job! 🙂

He’s in charge of the iPod playlist. He has surprisingly strong feelings on the subject. I think it’s cute he’s taking an interest. He is also in charge of selecting which beer we are going to serve, since I don’t drink the stuff.

- Wedding: September 2009 - Barr Mansion
My guy’s in charge of the honeymoon. Thank goodnes–how in the hell do you plan a wedding and a two-week long vacation at the same time?
I’ve also gotten a lot of his feedback as far as music and food.
