I am just curious to see because my Fiance is in to his appearance when he is not in a uniform. He is a mans man but he does like to smell good and look put together all the times. He is not obsess but he knows what he wants and has great fashion sense.
My Girlfriend has to fight with her husband because his taste in clothes are so different from hers and their is always a disagreement when they need to get dressed for special occasions.
When we have gone out with them in the past we hear them arguing about what he is putting on…:)

He cares some. He dosn’t dress like a slob, he makes sure to smell nice, shaves and takes showers.
He dosn’t stand in front of the mirror forever in a day, get mani/pedis or go to the gym though.

My fiance has better fashion sense than me. Its nice to know that when we go out I don’t have to worry what he’s going to be wearing. But, at times its frustrating when I want to just be lazy and he looks great. Makes me nervous for our wedding day though — i always ask him advice on what I’m wearing and I’m nervous he won’t like the dress I picked.

@sarg88: men generally look good without trying..if they get a shave and cut their hair they look great…

He cares a lot, and I think has gotten more image-conscious since we started dating. He’s European though, so I think it’s a typical European thing to dress sharp. He cares a lot about good shoes, tailored suits and details like cufflinks. But the good thing is that once he’s dressed and ready, he doesn’t then fuss over his appearance again.

Fiance knows when to get dressed up, and he dresses up WELL! But otherwise, he lives in gpd awful track pants!

My guy has the worst sense of style but he has a habit of asking if what he’s wearing looks okay, so I’m fine with that haha.

Fi works 75hours a week so he barely gets dresses in real clothes. But when he does he always makes sure he looks good. My sisters wedding was the first time in almost 6 years my family saw him in a suit, they couldn’t stop talking about how good he looked lol.

He cares but hes not a metrosexual. He loves taking showers, getting regular haircuts, maintains a neat bread. hes all about being neat and clean. Fashion wise he is particular about what he thinks is flattering to frame and doesnt experiment much. He’s a basic guy’s guy. But he definitely can turn it up for special occasion.

My Fiance has a very simple sense of style. Lately he’s into plain solid colored t-shirts. He grabs one, throws on a pair of jeans or shorts, and calls it a day. However, when he has to get dressed up. . . he cares a little more. Makes sure he shaves, styles his hair, asks me if it looks ok, etc.

My FH will do the bare minimum, he is really not a metro by any means.
But if we are going out somewhere nice he will ask me what he should wear, so he does make an effort then.

My Fiance has more high-end shoes than I do and spends his free time on style forum. I also have to drag him out of Brooks Brothers. And I love it! It’s nice to go out with a stylish guy. Though I hate the term metrosexual, a “man’s man” should be able to dress himself regardless.

@princesslettuce14: I totally agree with you…my Fiance loves fashion and I do make sure he gets a mani and pedi because I dont like dirty nails or rough feet. So he has agreed to do it once a month. My legs are very grateful to not being scratched anymore.

Fiance is very into well made, staple pieces in his wardrobe. He has a bunch of good quality but basic Ralph Lauren t-shirts, a couple of Burberry polos, and a few different good cashmere sweaters. He also is particular about the way his jeans fit-they always hug his booty in all the right places 😀 He is very into suits-he doesn’t wear them to work right now, but he’s got a bunch of dress shirts/ties/suits from Brooks Brothers since that’s his fave store, and I love that he’s always well put together. Even on track pants days, they’re always ADIDAS with a matching RL tee and matching sneakers…I love it. He doesn’t have a huge rotation of clothes, but has really good stuff in his closet.

He cares enough not to look like slob, but doesn’t really care to the point of thinking too much about t and is definitely not metro. He has his basic pieces for work – slacks and dress shirt, or going out – jeans and a eddie bauer shirt of some sort (his favorite brand and only one that fits him well) so he always looks presentable/neat and clean.
