@MrsPanda99:  considering he electrocuted himself trying to put a switch plate COVER on the other day, I have to go with no! I’m a little more handy but generally we hire someone to do anything and everything!

@MrsPanda99:  I don’t think my SO has ever had a callous in his life 😛 His answer is to call someone else to fix it, everytime. I end up doing some of it myself because I think I am more ‘handy’ than he is! Some men huh…

My DH is an IT guy who studied electrical engineering. He is very handy, and also meticulous to a fault. Jobs that we do ourselves (or that he does while I hold tools) are done better than a pro job would be, since he cares about the result.

We hire people for jobs that we don’t have the desire to do, because they’re too messy or too time consuming for our crazy schedule.

My DH is definitely not that handy. He actually set my car on fire trying to jump his once, lol. He can change light fixtures and build a computer, but I keep him away from anything else!

@MrsPanda99:  Yes, he owns a handyman business so he’s very handy. Just this last year he remodeled our house, built a beautiful privacy fence for us, poured our driveway, built and designed a 900 sq. ft. raised bed garden. These are just a few examples of what he can do. 🙂

@MrsPanda99:  Yes, he’s very very handy. He and his dad built a house by themselves when he was only about 14, and he learned everything from electrical to plumbing to carpentry to drywall and window installation. He also works in the tool and die trade so he’s very mechanically inclined. It’s been very handy whenever something goes wrong with either the house or the car. I’m super grateful that he’s been so handy because it’s gotten us out of some pretty rough situations!

@MrsPanda99:  Same! His father owns a window/custom glass business, and DH used to help him out on construction sites. He spends a lot of his free time working on cars and such. If something breaks, he can usually fix it. The exception here is electrical work. I have a serious fear of fires, and I’m terrified of him not doing something perfectly and our house burning down. We always hire an electrician when necessary!

@MrsPanda99:  Hahah! I tease my SO that he’s never done a hard day’s work in his life. His hands are literally softer than mine… I don’t mind though 🙂

@MrsPanda99:  my dh is very handy.  anything to do with machines or engines, brilliant.  i swear he has almost every small tool imaginable.  he won’t pay someone to do something that he can do himself.

God, no! He’s so unhandy that he’s forbidden to touch stuff around the house. It’s not that he’s unwilling to try his hand at helpful jobs , far from it, but his list of epic failures are, well, epic!
