I’ve always known that I would change my last name to my future husband’s, so I’m looking forward to it. I like mine because it’s very simple, but, therefore, it’s sort of boring. I actually prefer his last name over my current one.

I have a name that resulted in torment as a kid, but it’s kind of special and people refer to me by it in adulthood.

Fiance definitely has the ‘better’ name but it’s also one of the top 10 most popular so I can’t get any kind of normal email address or account ID  without adding a zillion numbers.

I prefer my last name…so I kept it! Hehe.

Seriously, though, it wasn’t a matter of liking one more than the other. I just couldn’t imagine changing the name I’ve had for over twenty-five years, so I didn’t.

I prefer FI’s last name. My whole name sounds like a tongue twister. My first name is Shilo and my last name starts with Sch, it’s a mouth full. FI’s last name is Hundley, hence the username. His is way better than mine 🙂

I love my FI’s last name and I’m looking forward to taking. While I love my current last name, I don’t really feel the need to keep it.

I’ve always known I was going to take my husband’s last name if I got married.  My last name will become my middle name.

That said, I like my last name better.  It freaks me out to think of being called Mrs. HisLastName and I’m sort of in mourning for my last name right now.

His! I joke often that I’m marrying him to upgrade my last name. If I didn’t like it I probably wouldn’t have changed it, would have double-barrelled it or would have done what my friends did and choose a new name altogether

Definitely my husband’s! I haven’t officially changed over yet (waiting for the summer when I have time off) but let’s just say that my name is a synonym for a male body part.

I love my last name… and will be keeping it. FI’s name is very very French-Canadian, and for over 80% of the Canadian population it’s hard to pronounce. I’ll probably hyphenate my name on legal documents so that I can use either name for different situations.

i like my last name better. its short and simple. FIs name is slavic, short, but a little tricky. i know keeping my name wouldnt fly with him early on. but im fine with taking his, its an honor too.

I like DH’s last name more but I still kept mine. I didn’t keep my name because it was “cooler”.

I love my last name, it’s not very common..but his last name is common.. And rhymes with furry. Hahaha But he would be heartbroken if I didn’t take his name!

We both have strong last names with a lot of history behind them, mine from a prominent House in England/Ireland and his from a large, powerful clan in Scotland so I love them both.  That being said, I am taking his :3
