partI would have loved for my dog to be part of our wedding ceremony. However, the hotel we’ll be staying at and having our ceremony/reception don’t allow any pets. We would be getting a new addition to our family too before we get married. An irish wolfhound. Fortunatley, there’s a motel down the street that allow all size pets. We’ll be leaving them there, while other guest will be staying there as well. But we do want pictures with them after the ceremony.
How was your pet part of your wedding? Any pics?

We have 3 dogs, but because we had a destination wedding it was only feasible to take 1. We took the one that we got first, she’s also the one that handles travel and new situations the best.

We chose not to have ours at the wedding, but I think a lot depends on your pet and its temperment. Our dog is not a happy camper when we take her some place new with a lot of people. Going to a new park when its quiet and she can take her time and explore = great happy dog, new park with a crowd and lots of noise and commotion= nervous unhappy stressed out dog. She does ok with family coming to the house, but has her “spot” where her bed is that she will retreat to if feeling overwhelmed. If we had brought her she would have been unhappy, I would have been worried about her and it just wasn’t worth all that.

I love my dog, but no, he was not part of our wedding. The last thing I needed to worry about on my wedding day was tending to my dog or expecting someone else to do it for me. We were also getting married where we grew up, 5 hours from where we live.
For families with pets of the right disposition, sure, go for it if the logistics work out.
