Yes.  I had it insured with State Farm, who does my car insurance.  I bought a separate rider for it.

No.  My ring cost only ~$1000 so I don’t think it’s necessary.

I have my engagement ring insured and when my wedding band comes in I will have that insured also. Both are done though State Farm – I haven’t had any issues yet. I also have my car and renters insurance through them.

Yes, mine is insured through Perfect Circle (Jeweler’s Mutual). I had it for about a week before we had it appraised and insured, and I was nervous wearing it during that week. It’s worth it for the peace of mind alone. Hopefully I’ll never have to use it.

Mine isn’t insured yet, but I will be adding a rider to my insurance with State Farm for my engagement ring and both of my bands. I also have my car insurance and homeowners through them. I’ve never had an issue, low rates, etc. They’re wonderful to work with.

@meant2B:  Mine is insured with Travelers Insurance who also does our renter’s insurance. I haven’t had to file a claim on it and hope I never do.

Yes, mine is insured.  I added it as a rider on our State Farm renters insurance. It actually took me a year to finally get it insured… whoops! I hope to never have to deal with them though 🙂

Yes we decided to insure mine even though it is relatively inexpensive in the grand scheme of things however with how cheap the insurance is it would take 84 to equate the cost of my ring. It is insured through jewelers mutual.

it’s currently covered under my renter’s insurance. when we move, it will go on a rider under the homeowner’s insurance. my ring is not worth a hell of a lot, to be honest. the stone is an heirloom, and the setting is worth less than $600. now, if i had a $10,000 ring, it would have its own insurance. but for this one, it’ll go under the homeowner’s insurance. until i get a wedding band, and then we’ll get our own policy.

@meant2B:  Yes my ring is definitely insured!  I used Jewelers Mutual and it’s only $25/year!!!  SO worth it.  Now I don’t even have to worry about anything.  They cover stolen/lost rings, missing stones (like pave falling out), chips, and pretty much everything else you can think of!

@als1214:  This is my situation too.

Could I come up with the cost to replace my moissanite ring on the spot if I had to? Sure, it wouldn’t kill me. Would I want to? No. It would take me 80 years to pay out the cost of my engagement and future wedding ring in insurance premiums. I’d be pretty shocked if nothing happened to either ring before then.

I use Jewelers Mutual for $25 a year.

Yes, insure the ring!  I have the policy through Allstate, where everything else is, under the “holy s*** something happened to my ring” category of amount of insurance.
