My FI is alot like his dad concerning money management. They are both hard workers, excellent   At budgeting and saving. They talk stocks and finance chatter with eachother for fun.

oops hit send too soon. They are also both very quiet with their emotions and feelings. They are both loving and giving but arent quick to express it. More doers and problem solvers.

@cls9q:  Heck no! I love my dad and all but I wouldn’t marry him.

@cls9q:  I can’t say for sure how much Mr. S is like his father, espcially in his relationship because his dad and stepmom live in Arizona.  🙂  But Mr. S is VERY much like my own father.  Honest, funny, sarcastic, caring, hard working.. the general traits.  But also in that he likes to do yard work because “it calms him down.” He makes sure I’m taken care of even though I’ve been on my own for years and can handle it – like top off the air in the tires if they’re low, wash the car, vacuum occasionally, make dinner, etc.

Basically, I’m marrying a younger and taller version of my father.  haha

FI is like his mom, not his dad. Both FI and FMIL are kind, selfless people who put everyone else’s needs before their own. They go out of their way to make their loved ones feel happy and comfortable. 🙂

@cls9q:  My DH could be a younger version of dad, seriously it is too funny.  They are definately father/son.  My DH and his dad both smoke (and yes his mom and myself and harped on them about they shouldn’t smoke)  DH and his dad loveeee golfing. They look alike and act alike.  I laugh way to much about it

@cls9q:  My FI and his dad and his oldest brother are all pretty similar. They all have the same career (not with the same company though) and they all are usually “cranky” and put on this front but will do anything for the woman in their lives. My FI dad does all of the chores and my FI would if I needed him too. They also have a lot of the same funny quirks like being particular about how heavy their drinking glasses are. His middle brother and his grandfather are very similar to each other and different from the other three so I have always found that interesting.

@cls9q:  He is NOTHING like his father and soooooo much like mine 🙂

ETA he hasn’t actually talked to his dad in 8 years because he’s such a dick and not something he wants to ever look up to or be like.

My FI’s father left his mom (with 3 kids under the age of 6!) a long time ago (I think FI was 4) so he doesn’t even remember him.  So, I’m not sure if he is like his father, however, he’s not like his mom either!

FI is the polar opposite of his dad. I think FI looked at his dad as a “what not to do” and has done everything in his power to be nothing like him, and for that I am thankful. His dad is not a good person, husnand, friend, or father.

They share some mannerisms and physical characteristics, but that’s where it ends. My husband is open with his emotions, doesn’t like to randomly put people down, and understands that the world doesn’t revolve around him.

No, not at all.  He really takes after his mother though.

They look similar (height, body shape) though he has his moms colouring (dark & a lot of gray hairs even though he is only 22). He is nothing like either, I don’t think. He likes to spoil me , just like his dad spoils his gf, but unlike him he doesn’t have girlfriends & kids everywhere. His mom & biological dad are two opposites and he is somewhere in the middle.
