I liked tall, he's 5'8.
I liked dark hair, he's blond
I liked tanned, he's fair skinned
I liked hairless, he's hairy
I like artsy/musicians, he's a nerdy computer guy/sports jock
But... Very glad I was open to look further than "my type" cause there's nothing I'd change about him, inside or out! HE is my type.
Nope! I was all about the dark brown hair, and his is dark blonde. Never expected that, but so glad that I gave him a chance anyway. :P
Not my type in the slightest... but totally, totally perfect for me. Thank god I was willing to step outside my "type". He really was one of the first white guys I've ever dated, so that was kind of a shock, but it all worked out!
Ditto - not even close! But just like egb, I wouldn't change a thing. He is perfect for me, and he is my heart.
Looks-wise, totally! But I always thought I'd end up with a scruffy anti-establishment hippy type. My guy is a corporate accountant who not only works for The Man, but hopes to be The Man some day. Sigh. Good thing he's cute.... hehe
I used to think he wasn't but when think back to the person I thought I wanted my husband to be when I was a little girl... he is EVERYTHING I wanted in a husband!!!!
So I guess so! He is just VERY different from the wrong guys I dated!
Yes, exactly!!
Different from all the wrong guys; how did those become "our type"??? I didn't see that happen!
He's 99 % my type :) Blonde hair, blue eyes, cute dimple lol. Plus he's exactly like me in so many ways that I think are really important for us to work in the long run, but I guess I could say no in the sense that I never figured I'd be a future military wife lol. Even though it wasn't what I pictured my future to be like, I wouldn't change a thing as he's the only person who truly gets me and makes me so happy :)
well yes and no. lol i would notice the preppy dressed guy with scruffy hair but tended to date the nerdy skinny guy. FI is def in the nerdy skinny department...and like you said, "HE is my type." he makes me happy :)
I didn't have a really specific type but I do like them tall and gangly! My husband fits that!
He's somewhat my type and somewhat not.
By looks he's my type.
But there was a lot on my part (maybe a bit of reverse snobbery) that I really didn't think I'd ever be with. Ex. he was a frat boy, didn't think I'd marry one of those.
I don't know what my type was, other than musician-esque, and my partner is a full-time artist, so that worked out! :)
I wanted a funny, compassionate, athletic, ambitous person who shared my vision for a happy life. I literally found the man of my dreams. :)
i love to LOOK at heavily tattooed boys with piercings, rooster hair, and skinny jeans. the rockstar/artist type, i would say.
but the man i am in love with is a clean-cut neuroscientist who likes to play videogames.
turned out fine and dandy because we're both nerds - and i communicate much better with the nerds!
It's funny because I joke with him all the time that he is the man of my dreams! I like dark skinned, skinny, tall(er than me), that are sweet but definitely have that bad boy edge and he fits the bill perfectly. Plus he is a great dad and an amazing lover, so for the most part he's exactly my type.
I didn't know I had a type lol until now my boy is Tall, Dark and handsome :) kinda nerdy and shy but oh so sweet...now when I catch myself checking a guy out I realize they almost always have similarities to my FI...
Before I met my FI, I always loved blonde guys! Yet my FI is dark skinned and has dark brown hair...so funny!
most definately! (minus the chest hair lol) looks wise, hes tall, dark hair, green eyes, muscular...everything i was always attracted to. mentally, hes smart and funny and we have so much in common. hes everything i always wanted in a guy
Yes, he is everything that I ever wanted in a man. My friends always told me that I was looking for a husband and not a boyfriend because no boy our age would be like that. They were so wrong because I met him when we were 17. He is smart, atlethic, God fearing, hard working, kind, tall, handsome, has an awesome body, and is physically and mentally strong.
My hubby is an anime/gamer/J-POP/action figure nerd. I am an L.A. girl through and through- I love to shop, get dressed up and go to clubs, eat at expensive fancy restaurants and read celebrity news. In terms of personality he's my type though. All the L.A. boys I dated played around too much, all about the drama and cheating, too cocky and put on fronts, although we had similar interests and upbringings. Hubby is gentle, kind, generous, and is completely himself and that is exactly the "type" I was looking for! He also happens to be from England which would've seemed completely out of left-field to the Kristin of 5 years ago!
i like men like hugh jackman, tall, large shoulders, big hands and a really masculine in all ways outside, but inside soft and sensitiv mixed with strenght. he should be my rock in every way.
When i first saw him i dont thought he is exactly my type but gave him a chance and of course now he is definitly my type! He has big hands, is a workman and the is tall and has the large shoulders wich i looove!! the better you know and love a man the better you like him. When i look at him i just know i love him so much and he is so sexy :)
Actually he wasn't that far from my type. I liked tall and didn't care about eye or hair color but I did like muscular guys. My b/f is like a string bean but that's ok b/c I love him and it was just a preference. He is my type we get each other completely. I wasn't in his age preference but he stepped out of his preference and found his "soul mate" according to him. It worked out for both of us.
yep, tall (well tall for me since I'm barely 5'3": he's 6'0"), dark, very muscular build, low fade caesar cut, big hands and feet haha
He engulfes me, I love it.
Absolutely my type... Dark hair, blue eyes & European... that is how I like'em.
Nope,
I was a chub-chaser- he is a skinny minnie and if fact may look better in most clothes than I do.
I like older like she may have a daddy complex older, (I don't)- he's 6 months younger.
I like alpha males, (or thought I did,)- he's.... not.
Although- he IS a computer nerd- which seems to be a consistancy with my victims. ;)I don't think I'm his type either.... so I'm glad we looked beyond our usual suspects.
He is TALL which I looove :) so yes, he is! But he is a different in many ways then what I thought I wanted as well. He is quiter...I'm usually attracted to louder people (like me...hmmm) but we balance eachother out very well. Our sense of humor is in sync and we can be 100% ourselves together which is wonderful!
Tall, dark and handsome is what I was going for! As well as gorgeous eyes! He completed all of those! The only thing that was different for me is I thought I was only into the sporty type of guys, and I never thought I would date/marry a suit and tie man. But I am!! And that's completely ok!! He's wonderful and we compliment each other very well :]
not my high school type which was very tall guys. but he's my only type now - just perfect.
My FI is definitely my type! I was into him from the first moment I met him. I always dreamt I would end up with him (we were friends for a long time before getting together) but just thought that would never happen. He is my dream guy :)
Well he is smart, and he has muscles. But I was so tired of the obsessed with sports guys, but I ended up with another one...the WORST one! But he is loyal, and funny. We were drawn to eachother the first time we met. He is loud, I am quiet, I follow the rules, he breaks them, He likes rap, I like indie. I like nature, he likes gyms. I like staying in, he likes going out. But it works! I go out more than I used to, and he stays in more than he used to. Win, win!
6 months before our first date, I whined to my friends that the man I envision just doesn't exist. Fast forward 4 years, he's more than I could have ever imagined. Looks wise he is tall (6'5), dark, and handsome! Personality wise he is kind, honest, gentle, funny, loyal, a man's man, Mr. Fix-It...If only he danced, then he'd be perfect.
yes in every way yes. Not only on the superficial side of things but the emotional, intellectual side too.
I've always been a sucker for tall guys [he's 6'5"] and a great sense of humor paired with deep understanding is always a win. We're polar opposites in all things but our deep adoration of film & video games.
Now, if I can only convince him to geek it up with classical literature instead of percentiles and profit margines...he'd be perfect! [j/k he's perfect the way he is].
yeah i think he is looks wise. our interests however, no. i thought I'd end up with someone more artsy, another designer perhaps.... he couldn't be MORE opposite in that regard. But i think it works, hes a bookworm and i am far from it!
Probably not. But I think he redefined my type. The first time I saw him thought he was cute but thought we only had a friend vibe, boy was I wrong!
FI is and isn't. I always loved skinny musicians, which he is. I always loved nerdy guys and gamers, which he is. I love goth/indie/alternative guys and tattoos, neither of which fit hit him at all. I also like blue-eyed blondes, FI is Italian and very dark. I also never liked body hair, and FI is very hairy guy.
Oh yeah, I like my men confident, huge and mediterranean. lol
He's got every single characteristic I lust after except ridiculous height. My friends think I'm crazy, since he's 5'10-ish and I'm 5'1", but most guys I dated were a minimum of 6'1" (I even dated one that was 6'7"!). lol
We're very different in regards to hobbies/interests — I like the outdoors, he likes the concrete jungle — but I think that works well and helps to keep a balance to our relationship.
yes! tall, dark hair, green eyes, muscular, confident, and gets dirty but cleans up nicely. he's absolutely PERFECT in my eyes!
He's physically my type, dark skin, dark eyes, dark hair.. My mom always used to tease me that she knew what my dates looked like without ever meeting them. I was really into dating tall 6'0+ "suit guys": lawyers, accountants, bankers, Jr VP's etc. Then I met him, he's the opposite, 5'8" (which works since I'm only 5'3"), works on cars, good with his hands, loves to be outside, can't work in an office. Turns out he's the love of my life and I can't imagine being without him. Good thing I gave him a chance!
