I’m 15 months out from my wedding, so I’ve got some time to experiment with a few DIY projects. I want to attempt designing my own invitations, and I’ve got Adobe Illustrator … but I don’t know how to find cool designs/motifs to use. I know a lot of people get them from iStockphoto, but I don’t know where to begin.
What types of things do you search for on the site? Do I definitely want vector illustrations? Any search keyword suggestions? How’d you find your beautiful frames and borders and other pretty elements?

Hi Bela! welcome to weddingbee!
you definitely want to get vectors / illustrations.
try “borders”, “flourishes”, “swirls”, “frames”….. once you get a few you like its like a rabbit hole, one image will lead to another because of the “keywords” at the bottom right. you can click on those keywords for more!
happy vector hunting!

I agree with Krissybee…flourishes, bookplates, swirls. I think I have added illustrations to my keywords and that seems to help.
It’s really a lot of trial and error, but a fun search none the less!

Try “decorations” or “frames”
