Most brides need alterations, it’s perfectly normal. Congrats on getting a dress you love!

people are not one size fits all. even everyday clothes will look better if altered to fit your exact body!

@dihy:  We’re our own worst critics!  All of us here are very used to seeing brides in their dresses before final alterations and know what to expect. I don’t see where you posted it, though, I’d really love to see the dress!

Look at it this way. The dress fits. But you want it to fit YOU! you want to look the best you can on your wedding day and everyone’s dress should be fitted to them…not just anyone who happens to have those measurements. We all know that two women can have the same measurements and look completely different in shape.

It’s nothing to worry about. Everyone needs alterations…You just need less. GO YOU!

ETA: Those sleeves are going to look really nice once they are fitted.

I love that dress!  It’s very unique and I can tell it totally fits your personality.  I think it will look absolutely perfect once you get your alterations done!  I had a lot of doubts about my dress until I saw it after alterations.  Once it was all done and I put it on I fell in love with it!

The dress is perfect for what you’re going for!!  No dress fits everyone perfectly, even with the same measurements.  Lucky you, you just need a bit here and there and it’s going to look amazing!  Get back on your “high” – you have every reason to be there! πŸ™‚

My dress has a corseted top, and yet it’s still going to need alterations to bring the bottom up so I don’t trip all over it πŸ˜‰

    And a bustle. lol.

it is normal as everyone has a different body shape. even if you buy clothes in store in your size, it still does not fit you prefectly. not everyone has a standard figure. dont worry, it should be alright

It would be unusual if you didn’t need to alter the dress to fit you the best. πŸ™‚  At least you love your dress and are excited! Alterations aren’t a bad thing.
