Sorry for the delay – my fiance (feels strange still but yay!) proposed last Saturday – on the 5th. We went to my favourite show, Phantom of the Opera, and had walked around London earlier – turns out he wanted to propose by Eros but it was boarded up! I had no idea and just thought we were killing time before the show lol (I had thought that might be the night, but hadn’t realised about the location!). After the show he had the program, and I had a bag with a few souveneirs: I told him to put the program in the bag on the way out but he wouldn’t – he said he wanted to look at it which seemed weird when we were walking out. Once we got out he gave it to me in such a way that it fell open in the middle where there was an envelope with my name on it. I opened it to find a card –
sorry, first time uploading pictures so no idea how to re-size, will work on it for my next post!
Inside he had written –
I was totally speechless! I just hugged him and he said to me – I haven’t given you the ring, I need to do it properly but not here. There was a cycle rickshaw passing so he stopped it and asked to go to the river – we were both in silence, just holding hands and grinning the whole way! When we got there we stopped opposite the London eye and he got down on one knee to ask again, then got out the ring and realised I still hadn’t spoken! Of cource I said yes and gave him a huge hug – I didn’t want to let go. When I did, he gave me this –
It was perfect for me – we had spoken about how I wanted something symbolic and not expensive. For anyone who doesn’t know it’s a design which symbolises love (the heart), friendship (the hands) and loyalty (the crown). It’s silver and cubic zirconia and I adore it.
The reason for the delay in posting is due to how busy the following week was! Aside from seeing family (we are at opposite ends of England and siblings are spread out), we also chatted budget and set a date – we will be married on the 11th October this year! As it’s a 6 month engagement we decided to get organised so we have booked the church and reception venue, done guest lists, designed invitations, chosen our wedding party, had the initial interview with the minister, decided our order of service, ordered wedding rings, chosen a theme and colours and started enquiring about DJs and photographers. It’s been hectic but brilliant!
I’m so excited and can’t quite believe how fast it’s happening but it’s everything we both want 🙂
