We have been together for over 7 years. And always knew that we were going to be together forever.
Last winter, while snowshoeing at a local State Park we began discussing rings. (I told him I didn’t want a diamond and different and unique and one of a kind and nothing too big and fancy) So, I did some research and decided on a Chrysoberyl(it’s the lime green color that I love and is harder than Peridot)
So, on Saturday while hiking at that same State Park with one of our dogs we came to a familiar and often used to sit on fallen tree. So, I sat down. Got some water out for Izzy(the dog)and he starts moving twigs and stuff off the ground. So, I ask him what he’s doing. “This” he says, gets down on his knee and produces a box from his pocket. And the rest (as they say) is history. Sure, the proposal was not over the top~but it was perfect. Simple. Outdoors. Doing something we love. Perfect.
The ring is just what I wanted!! It’s a Chrysoberyl with a diamon halo, twisted shank with three diamonds in the twist(his way of incorporating my obsession with hidden Mickey’s), (remniscent of the cancer ribbon as he lost his Dad and I lost my Mom to the disease) Simple. Yet unique. I love it!! He did a great job!!!(well, it is a half size too big…
I can’t take a good picture of the ring…..hope these will do and give you an idea.
