Well, it hurts to have sex more than one day in a row. I swear that this wasn’t the case when we first started having sex but I honestly can’t remember…I was also on a different bcp then and had more “natural” lubrication as well as a higher sex drive. I switched pills about 2 years ago and they gave me noticiably less lubrication as well as a huge difference in sex drive. We are young (I’m about to turn 22..and we were in college, we aren’t engaged yet) so I just waited until my yearly PAP to ask for a different birth control. I switched last week but we haven’t had the chance to have sex since I switched (we both live at home with our parents :/)
Anyway, my BF and I are going to NYC this weekend for my birthday (and to get engaged!!) and I want to be able to have sex every night of the trip (thursday-sunday) but it just hurts so much the second night that I can’t stand it. It’s like a chapped/chaffed feeling. We use lube and it doesn’t hurt at the time we are having sex. And we don’t have rough sex at all, we are really good about communicating to each other so he’s never too rough. Do any of you girls have this problem? We use lube every time but still have this problem. We have tried many different brands of lube/no lube. We have tried fingering/oral (sorry tmi!) before but it is always just so raw feeling. I am planning on talking to my gyno about it before we get married and go on our honeymoon because I would really hate to have this problem on our honeymoon as well.
Any advice would be very very appreciated!!

Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have any itching or (sorry… gross) a bit of discharge down there at all? You could have a mild yeast infection, and intercourse is causing your vaginal tissue to become inflamed, which is painful (obviously).
having had them myself, I can’t imagine that you wouldn’t know something was up, since after about day 3 they usually get so damned itchy there’s no question you have to run to the drugstore… but perhaps if you have a very mild case?
Are you using a water-based lube? Check the ingredient list and if you see “glycerine” try a different brand. Glycerine makes me itchy and sticky afterwards.
Other than those 2 suggestions, I’m afraid a doctors visit may be in order, and I would certainly not wait until your honeymoon! Why live in misery? Call her and make an appt as soon as you can. 🙂

There’s no itching at all. Just pain. Almost a burning sensation, really uncomfortable. 🙁 I’ll talk to her when I can. I know that I should, I brought it up last time but she didn’t seem too concerned.

@imagine8204: Bring it up again, and be persistent with her.
She probably brushed it off because she’s thinking you’re “doin’ it” 3 or 4 times a night for a week at a time (ah… my 20’s… I remember them fondly 😉 and in that case it would be normal to get chafed and sore.
Pain, real pain, (not a little tenderness from being a big vigorous) after a single intercourse session is not normal, nor should you be expected to live with it.
I would almost suggest it sounds like vaginismus, but from my understanding the tightening & pain occurs before or during intercorse, not afterwards… but in the interest of passing along as much information as possible, here’s a link
If this sounds like your symptoms, you can also search the boards here, because there are at least 2 Bees who have documented their journey through treatment, and you may find their posts helpful.

Lots of lube – Astroglide is great – and definitely see a doctor if that doesn’t help.

@MissNoodles: Thank you for the information, though I don’t think that’s what I have, I’m glad you were so helpful
