One part we're really excited about is the possiblity of putting up a badmidton area down by the lake. We're excited that our guests can range out over the house, the property, the guest house, the guest house porch, the waterfront and the dock.

Remember last week when I lost my mind because of a suprise $3,000 venue fee? Well, it caused us to totally rethink our wedding reception. We tried to move it to the marina in town, but they didn't want to shut down for the night for us. I also started exploring the possibility of having it at my parents house under a tent on their lawn, which was my initial dream when we started planning this waaayyy back in September.
I knew finding a caterer who would travel to BFE north Idaho, a tent and tables and chairs that weren't rented, and a DJ set would be a challenge. But get this... I found ALL of it. And the final number comes in under our reception budget, even with table linnens, real plates, silverware and glassware, a catered cocktail hour and reception, and equipment rentals to make it possible to party in the rain (should we experience a Tiramasu rainstorm!).
I'm as shocked, giddy even, that it's coming together like this. SHOCKED. GIDDY! Things happen for a reason!
