@Shonzilla:  i would ask the bride what she thinks. i personally wouldn’t be upset if someone wore that to my wedding. it’s not like it looks like a wedding dress. you definitely won’t be mistaken for her. if she’s cool with it then go for it.

I think you’d do better going with the 2nd one.  The first one is lovely, but I wouldn’t wear it as a wedding guest.

I would not wear dress #1 to a wedding.  But I’m sure you’ll have lots of other great occasions to wear it – it’s beautiful!

@Shonzilla:  Yep, the first one is WAYY too light, & as the bride I would find it rude if somebody wore that (I’m pretty being sort right now, but it’s a touchy subject since my mother asked to wear an ivory dress to my wedding. For real? Not cool. Luckily she didn’t.)

The second one should be just fine, as long as all your accessories aren’t white.

Honestly I LOVE the dress and I really wouldn’t care if someone wore it to my wedding, but I think a lot of other women would.

That’s so funny that you bought it for your own engagement party lol. Its super cute!!

@Shonzilla:  It’s a beautiful dress though! & at your engagement party it should be great (you will be the bride, after all)

I personally think even dress #2 has too much white. As I bride, I probably wouldn’t mind dress #2, but my cousin’s fiance is a total bridezilla and she would totally flip if anyone wore that to her beach wedding.

@lil_possum:  Yeah, but should we really have to cater to an insane bridezilla?  I think most reasonable people would be totally fine with dress #2.

Personally I think it’s honestly stupid to care what any guest wears. I would’t have cared even if every single person showed up to my wedding wearing wedding gowns. If you might get confused about who the bride is, you shouldn’t be there anyway.

BUT… some people are less rational about this so I figure you can always ask the bride if you know her well, she might be more like me… and #2 is pretty much fine regardless and I would seriously judge a bride that got upset about it. If the bride got upset about dress #2 she would deserve her negative feelings for being unreasonable, it would say more about her than you.

@cbgg:  I don’t think she is insane. I agree that both dresses are awfully white. If #2 was all-over floral, it wouldn’t be an issue, but it has large areas that are plain white (or maybe it is just my computer monitor- I seem to have regular issues with contrast). Is it so hard to wear something that isn’t white?

@Bebealways:  It’s not about confusion, it’s about contrast and focal points in photos.
