FI and I are considering giving small boxes of Italian cookies for our favors.  I can find many "per pound" prices at local bakers but I can't figure out how many cookies come per pound, or how much I should give each person.

    Any ideas?

maybe you can go and buy just a pound of cookies, you know for experimenting purposes and at least that way you get a more accurate count of how many cookies are in each pound.

try experimenting, or go to a local bakery and I am sure they will have more of an idea :)

I used to work at a bagel store and if I remember correctly like 6 cookies was about a pound. But again, every size/ shape of cookie is different.

Hi! That is such a cute idea! This was the information that I found for my local italian bakery. Yours might be similar...

a 3 pound tray contained roughly 6 dozen (72) cookies

so if I do my math correctly, that should be 2 dozen (24) cookies a pound.

I personally think that 3-4 cookies a person is enough. If they are bigger cookies you could do less than that.

    Hope that helped!

Ummm...I see a tasty experiment coming on.

I would go around "tasting" cookies, and then when you find one you like, ask them how many cookies are in a pound, or buy a pound and count them yourself if they're super delicious.

I would think about how you want to package the favors- small box? little bag? and then how many you think is appropriate.

Maybe pick out a few flavors/types you like, then run the numbers for how many you'd need. The obvious being, the larger/heavier the cookie, the less you can get per pound.
