My partner and I are eloping in Florence this Sept. Our ceremony has been booked in for the morning 11.30am and we have 2 hours of photos.
Our organiser is booking us a romantic dinner, but I have no idea what we should do for the rest of the day to make it feel special.
I love my dress to pieces and want to wear it as long as I possibly can, its the only time I’m ever going to wear it, so I may as well. But I also dont want to feel ridiculous wandering around doing tourist things in my dress either. Does anyone have some suggestions?

@kylie027: Take a carriage tour.

@kylie027: I see what you mean, you want to do SOMETHING but not do it all in your dress… You might need someone wh ois familar with Florence to give you ideas.
Are you getting photos done at all? That could take two hours if you wanted to go around to different locations and get some lovely photos in your wedding attire.
You could have a fancy champagne lunch somewhere, or visit a winery?
I think the carriage ride sounds romantic too.
If your dress is comfy enough for walking, I actually would not hesitate walking around town a bit.
Do you want to return to your hotel before the dinner? Have a soak in a hot tub or you know…

I’ve only been in Florence one day a few years ago, so a super quick visit – but I remember the streets being quite crowded. If you have a long dress, walking around might not be the best idea. If I were you, I would first have a look at one of their amazing churches, then sit down at a nice little cafe where you could chat, drink a little wine and look at the street life. Once you’re done with that, visit one of the museums in town. Here’s a link to possible sites.

You could spend the rest of the day in Siena (buses regularly go between Florence and Siena. I think it takes like 40 minutes). We’re going to Florence on our honeymoon, but I have already been to Siena and it is such a charming little town. We did a hot air balloon ride while there and it was idyllic and I think it would be overwhelmingly romantic on your wedding day!!

A balloon ride would be awesome!
