- Wedding: October 2010
Background: we are having a non-denomination ceremony (I am Jewish, he is Roman Catholic) but to honour our families we want to do cultural dances. We are doing the Horah, and we are going to learn the Tarantella.
The tarantella: I know there are several variations, one being a circle dance and the other being a dance between couples. We’ve chosen to do the one for the couples.
The dilemma? I can’t find any concrete explanation of the tarantella dance.
I want to put an explanation of both of our cultural dances in our program so both sides of the family understand the meaning behind things. I have found that the dance originated with a spider bite, but google-fu has failed me to find out what this has to do with weddings.
Can any of you Italian brides help me??
