Very exciting day for equal rights. I wish California could take the credit but this was actually a federal court. My boss has tried cases in front of this judge and she told me he is extremely deliberate, respected and fair and that his decisions rarely get overturned. Hopefully this decision makes it past the appeal.

yay while i am not a member of the lgbt community or even know a lot of people who are *outside a few friends* this is very exciting i think everyone deserves the right to have their special day and also the right to have the same legal rights i will have once i marry my husband. i just hope protesters and hecklers don't give these poor people grief over it all...

Halleluia!

Sometimes the courts are ahead of the general public with moral issues. The Loving vs. Virginia case which overruled laws against interracial marriage was decided when the majority of the public opposed interracial marriage. Hopefully our kids will look back on days like this in the same way we look back on the Loving vs. Virginia days.
