- Wedding: July 2013
My fiancé and I decided to still get married this summer, even though we only got engaged in January. I suppose I should be thrilled we’re not waiting until next summer, but I’ve been running like a crazy woman getting it all together. I guess I could use some feedback on the details I’ve finalized so far – I worry once I take a breath, I’m going to regret the choices I’ve made so far…
Fortunately, we found a cozy venue in West LA’s Miracle Mile that could accommodate our 50 guests. So, the venue will conduct the ceremony, host the reception, cater the buffet dinner, provide DJ, flowers, photography, and coordinate the cake… whew! As well, my Maid/Matron of Honor is absolutely fabulous, running all over LA with me to get this done. So, here’s what we have so far:
I should add that our theme is classic, old Hollywood, black and white damask with Tiffany Blue accents
Here’s the dress… I had originally planned on a tea length dress, since it will be the end of July and very warm. But the more I looked at the gorgeous dresses on here, the more I wanted to try on a mermaid or trumpet style. Here’s what I chose… It’s a Sottero & Midgley dress. It was just retired in Februrary, so I got a great deal on the sample. It’s really big in the waist and hips, and they need to retack the bust to hide the boning, but nothing some alterations won’t fix! Although it already has a belt, I’m changing it to the black sash like what you see here.
Here’s the head piece – love the rhinestone clip, but not too keen on the birdcage netting. I’ll probably change that part…
These will be our invites… Love, love the ladies I’m working with at Double Trouble Designs. Nikki and Sara are so responsive and helpful!! The pocket holder will be oriented differently and we will be adding a couple more inserts:
This will be our cake… Sweet Lady Jane is an awesome bakery that works with our venue.
Here are the favor bags… We will have a huge candy station before the wedding and during the reception, so guests can fill these up with their favorite treats:
Sorry this is so long and the pictures are sooo darn huge! (How do you fix that on the iPad??). Anywho, I would love to hear your feedback – good, bad, or indifferent. What do you think Bees??
