My FI and I are responsible people, but let’s just when we were younger, credit cards were a necessity to us. Long story short, a year ago, when we got engaged, we made a promise to have all our credit card debt paid off… Well… I just made our last and final credit card payment this afternoon!!!!!!! NO CREDIT CARDS!!!! Not even little ones, or interest free cards, we have ZERO credit card debt and we are working hard to make sure it stays that way.
I’ll admit – I’ve missed eating out, the shopping trips and just getting new stuff in general – but now we will get to do that stuff in moderation while saving for our future. Next on the chopping block is our car payments, which we are going to triple up on for the next few months and pay them off three years early.
Sorry – just had to share my excitement! So excited to start our marriage with no evil credit cards!!!!

Yay! I’m so glad for y’all! Just make sure you keep the proof of the $0 balance… credit card companies are so corrupt these days that I heard they contact their paid off customers months/years later and say they’re still a balance due to “miscellanous fees”… ummm, yea right! 🙂

Awesome! I know what that feels like! Congrats! That’s very admirable especially since you’re planning a wedding.

Wow! Congrats! I was thinking of doing the same, but just for me haha. It is quite hard not being able to spend on cute things you see at the mall, but in the long run, it pays off. Very admirable indeed!

I buy cute stuff all the time at the mall, with my debit card.
