Well 2013 is shaping up to be another big year!!!
We just applied to get a mortgage for our first home! Its something that I cant yet share with friends and family but have to share with someone!!! Were so very excited!
We should find out by Monday/Tuesday if we get it and were looking at putting an offer (subject to finance) on a house this weekend!

cool!! Are you actually applying for a mortgage? Or just getting preapproved? I’d just get pre-approved – you don’t know if you will get this house, and you don’t want to start your rate lock until you have an accepted contract.
Are you applying at more than one place? Definitely shop around!!
We just closed on our first home over Thanksgiving – super stressful process, but so worth it :-)!!

@lisha_1988: I don’t know how Australia’s market works but we could only lock for 30 days and it took us 9 months to get our dream home.

@housebee: So we went to see three houses yesterday and unfortunately nothing…
The first was a dump. There wasnt room to have a dining room and was definately used as a party house at the present, and it seemed that people around that house thought the same. Def not somewhere to start a famliy.
The second we thought was absolutley perfect… and so did another 15 couples that were in a bidding war for it… unfortunately we arent in a position to offer infinate amounts of money so we had to walk away.
The third was nice but the yard was nothing! It had enough room to put a table and chairs on the patio and that was it! So wouldnt have been good for our two pups.
So its back to the drawing board. We have another four to see today although I’m not exactly interested in two of the three…. but well see what happens.
