The proposal is imminent! AHHHH. I’ve known it was going to be by the end of this month, due to the fact that it was supposed to be by the end of June but got screwed up by the jeweler (but that’s all written in another thread), but now that it’s actually happening, I am bursting at the seams.
ANYWAY. This past Saturday, SO came to my house and brought one long stem rose with a little card on it that said “A Rose for My Sarah”. He buys me flowers a lot, so in that regard it didn’t indicate too much, but he has never bought me just one long stem rose before, and never, besides birthdays and other events like that, has their been a card. Also, he wanted to take a picture of us with it, which was kind of strange because typically that’s my obsession. I didn’t want to get TOO excited, because it wouldn’t be unlike him to do something small and thoughtful to brighten my day.
THEN, on Sunday I drove to his house in my truck to pick him up so we could pick up furniture for our new place, and he made me wait outside because he “forgot his phone”. So while he went back in I was wondering if he was really going to get a rose. When he came out, I didn’t see it right away, but a second later, there it was! It took everything in my not to start crying right then and there. There was another card, saying “A Rose for October 1, 2007” which is the day we started dating, and again, he wanted to take a picture (of course I just HAD to be in moving clothes, didn’t I).
So it’s become pretty clear that this is the start of his proposal, and I could not be more excited! It’s such a cool feeling, because yes, I know it’s coming, so it’s not exactly a surprise, but I have no idea when or how I’ll get the final rose (so bachelor-esque!). I’m also so excited to see what he writes on each card.
Naturally, I am trying to speculate how many roses there will be. 6 for the number of years (well, almost) that we’ve been together? 12 because that’s a normal dozen? 4 because that’s my favorite number? WHO KNOWS?!
Thanks for letting me get my excitement out! I am trying my hardest to keep my friends and family in the dark (even though I’m sure dad knows) as much as possible so I can surprise them with the whole story all at once. I had to tell somebody, and why not you amazing bees?!!?
