- Wedding: October 2013
So last weekend, my SO and I finally tied the knot. After 8.5 years together and 2.5 years of being engaged, we are now officially husband and wife! (I’m still getting used to saying that.) Our day wasn’t without mishaps and small bumps, but it was fabulously perfect nonetheless 🙂
Like any recent newlywed, I’m anxiously awaiting our pro pics. In the meantime, I figured I share some of our guests’ photos to help inspire other DIY brides out there. (Sorry in advance for the photo overload.)
The bouquets – I carried a button bouquet made out of my granny’s old buttons and lace trim. I also made felt flower bouquets for each of my maids.
Our programs – I used the front to thank our parents and introduce all the folks participating in our big day. The back had the order of the ceremony along with the readings and response for the ring exchange.
I also made bouts for each of the gentlemen (plus the best lady) in our wedding. Each one was a bit different based on who it was for. Right now, I only have a good photo of the one my SO wore.
We also had a number of DIY touches at our small dinner reception including our bunting cake topper, fabric covered books, little clay shark and otter, and cookie favors.
Members of our families also played a role in our DIY wedding. MY Father-In-Law built the frame for my heart backdrop. Plus one of my SIL crocheted my wedding shawl while the other drew our guestbook.
Thanks so much for checking out our DIY affair. We had a number of other DIY touches that we don’t have photos of yet. I can’t wait to see what our photographer ended up capturing!
