Congrats on the 1000 posts! I understand how it feels about the money and it would be better to start your marriage when you have money and won't be stressed out about how to pay for things! I hate not having a job right now because it feels horrible when I want to go out for dinner or buy something from my favorite store (Sephora)!
Yay! Congrats on 1000, thats awesome. Also, just think about how great your wedding is going to be when you wont have to worry so much about money! You will be able to relax (and maybe splurge?) a little more.

Sorry to hear about the postponement, but it's worth it to wait and not be so stressed PLUS you'll get to soak up all the bees experiences that much longer!

Yeah, my parents told me they'd pay my car insurance and cell phone while i'm living at home, and all meals of course, so that I could save money and pay off student loans. FI is guaranteed a job through his program, so once he gets into his new job he'll pay for most of the wedding. Since we can push our deposits back, we already have a good chunk of what we want semi-paid for.
And... hey, a whole other season, a whole other theme I get to plan! It's kinda fun to plan two weddings :)
Congrats on the thousand posts, and sorry about the date change! But it sounds like you have a great attitude about it, and it's for the best. How much fun will it be to plan a spring wedding AND a fall wedding! ;)

It is a little sad that you had to extend your engagement, especially because you're LD, but now theres more time for planning! Woo!! You'll have a wonderful wedding w/ all the details planned out & now you have time to look for the best deals!

I keep going between happy and sad--I'm happy that we have more time to plan, but I do have to be in an LDR for about a year, which makes me sad. And everyone I know is getting married next summer including toxic friend (the one that is like in competition mode with me)!
However, my mom told me more expensive venues were fine--in fact, I get to go look at my DREAM VENUE & will probably book it!
It's just like, happy & sad. So frustrating to describe!

I should clarify: we're not LD yet. We will be if we postpone the wedding. That's why its also mucho sadness

@cinema: got it! Oh that is sad... but it will all work out! LDRs are hard, but you're a strong couple so I have total confidence that you will survive! You just have to keep your eye on the prize :) lol Gooooo team!

GASP. 1000! BUT I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT:
My wedding is now probably going to be in Oct 2011. We just can't afford everything going on right now when I'm not 100% on having a job (the pickings are slim where he'll be going to grad school for a year). This is about 90% sure, but we're thinking it's the only way we can afford it.
So yeah, a little bit of sadness, a lot of relief and a lot of happy for reaching 1000! I'll probably be around for 10000, too. Heh.
