I just gave him a victoranoux for our wedding present!
He is very scholarly & is in seminary. He loves to read and had a yellow lab.
Thanks bees, I appreciate your help.
ALSO, i’m trying to stay under $50. $$ is tight & he doesnt want me to spend $!

@cubaneli: Don’t worry my Fiance had a hard time figuring out what to give me for my birthday this weekend as well, lol! Is there anything he may need? If you want to do something sweet, cute, and stay within your budget…why not take him out for a romantic picnic just you two. I’m sure he would probably appreciate it. The weather must be nice in Tampa right now (I’m from South Florida).

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: thats a good price but he is not much of a sports fanatic. He like the Tampa Bay Rays, but not in a fanatic level. Thanks though!

@msfuturea: thats a good idea! Maybe we can go to the doggies beach and have a picnic (sushi) while the dog plays! 🙂
Thanks for the idea!
Ill keep that in mind!

My husband’s birthday is the 15th and since it’s so close to Xmas I save his big gifts for then, but I make him something sweet (like a coca-cola cake this year!), we go hang out with friends for dinner, and I buy him something small but useful (this year I bought him fuzzy moccasin slippers cause he stands all day at work and says his feet hurt when he gets home :)).

@MrsWrangler: thanks. i was thinking of making him banana bread! He LOVES that stuff. dinner out with the family would be nice too! 🙂

You can do all of the sentimental things and get him something small too! What about a watch display case? http://www.ebay.com/sch/Cases-Displays-/29529/i.html
I have a friend who LOVES watches, and he has one of these. It’s nice bc then he can show off all the nice watches he has while taking care of them too. My friend goes and “picks out” his watch every day (like women pick out a necklace or shoes).
No matter what you do I’m sure he will love it 🙂

Levenger.com has tons of things for scholarly types. I am obsessed with their highlighter pens and I treasure the leather notebook I got from them years ago.

FI’s birthday is this weekend too!
I got him a french press, a world series t-shirt (Go-Cards), coffee beans and coffee mugs from his favorite band (random, i know) and we are going out to dinner.
I know that doesn’t help you out much, but check out Uncommon Goods. I get a lot of presents there.

@acebride: lol.. this is nice! I gave him a really nice personalized one with his watch for christmas last year! 🙂

What about breakfast in bed or a homemade cake? My Darling Husband is all about a good meal, especially something homemade!!! Maybe you could go to Borders, pick out a new book, have a day snuggled up reading, followed up by a great meal?

My Husband loves watches too and his birthday is coming up in a few weeks (on Christmas Eve). He has several watches already, but none of them are that great and he doesn’t have one from me yet so I might get him one. I really like the watch display case idea too.
