Two thoughts: (1) You plan on putting it in a halo right? A 7mm in a halo is going to be very large. Unless you want a very VERY large look, I think you’ll be fine. You can also bump up the size of the halo stones or do a double halo if you want it to be slightly larger and give more finger coverage. (2) You should be able to exchange it if you really do change your mind.

I really want a cushion cut moissanite.  However, I have been afraid of the same thing since I keep hearing how they face up smaller than other cuts and I don’t have small fingers.  I don’t want a halo, so I am double terrified.

I say wait until it gets there to start worrying though!  Once you put it on your finger, it will probably look so gorgeous that all of your worries will go away.  Then, of course, post pictures!

Andreajmillan:  It will probably look a lot bigger in person than you expect it to. A 7mm is quite big and I’m sure you’ll love it! Post it here so we can love it too!

Oooh_snap:  They face up smaller than a diamond of the same carat weight, true, but it’s different with the moissanites because they don’t go by carat weights, they just go by face size measurements. So a 7mm cushion actually translates to a higher carat weight than a 7mm round and you don’t really have to worry about the face-up differences between shapes.

I went through the same thing but a 7mm center stone isn’t really small, what is your finger size?

Yeah, a 7mm should provide very good finger coverage for you. But if you feel it’s small after you get it you could probably do an exchange.
