Uggh, its actually almost half way through October!!  Today, I am meeting with the photographer that we will most likely hire for the wedding.  I have to hire the DJ.  Get a contract with the woman who is managing the bar and playing the piano for the wedding procession (I love multi-taskers).  We are going to book our pre-honeymoon (we can't go on our official honeymoon to Italy right after the wedding because we will still be in school when we get married instead we are going to Quebec for a few days).  I also need to start some of the DIY projects I have listed.  I think I will start the table runners which means I need a serious refreshing course on how to sew.  Lastly and most fun of all, I am making our STDs.  What do you, fellow JuneBees, have to do this month?

We're getting our engagement pictures taken next weekend, and then we need to make our STDs and send them out!  I also bought a bunch of materials to DIY programs.... I need to get moving on those because they are probably going to take me awhile!  I also need to send a deposit to our florist tomorrow :)

    SO MUCH STUFF! LOL!

I've already finished my napkin rings, bought my dress and scheduled my boudoir photo shoot for next March this month. I'm also working on assembling boxes to decorate for our favors, decorating our rehearsal dinner luminaries, decorating our old school disposable cameras for the tables, printing various signs, making bathroom baskets (toiletries won't expire before June!), staining table numbers, and arranging the silk flowers for the rehearsal dinner. I'm sure there's a lot more on my list too, but that's all I can remember off the top of my head.

I am meeting with photographers this week and next, finalizing arrangements with the choir for the ceremony, and putting the deposit down on the house we are renting for the week so my bridesmaids and I have a place to stay all to ourselves. This week we booked the band for the reception, consulted with and booked a florist, chose the bridesmaid dresses, and bought my shoes.

I'm meeting with the florist/wedding coordinator and the caterer this month. I hope they will both have well put-together proposals with itemized costs lists. Also picking out music with the organist and must do bridal portraits! This is kind of a big month. Tomorrow I pick my dress up from the seamstress (FINALLY)! I've got TWO showers this month too. I think by November, I'll be wedding-ed out. God forbid.

I am working on Save the Dates. We just took our engagement photos last week and got them back yesterday. So I would LOVE to have them done and mailed the week before Thanksgiving! I am making my own flower girl baskets and cutting the diy invites and programs. :-) Not too busy this month!

FINALLY getting around to asking our bridal party.

Seems like tis the season for STDs.  We're having our engagement pic shoot in two weeks and we're hoping to use those to put on our STDs.  Other than that, pretty quiet month for planning.

We're going to (hopefully!) finish up our STDs so they can be mailed in November.  Getting started on the bridesmaid dress search, finishing up our wedding website, working on a lot of details with the venue (how to hang paper lanterns, etc.).  We also need to finalize a honeymoon destination -- we've been SO indecisive about that!!

You guys have been so inspiring....and motivating!  I bought my wedding shoes and love them!  We chose a photographer and are trying to schedule an engagement shoot.  I have my dress ready for a second fitting.  I know what we are doing for STD's, just need to put it together (I am hoping to start today). We found our DJ, just need to book him.  Found our answer for bathrooms for our outdoor venue, just need to book them too.  Best of all I found our Day Of Planner, and she is amazing!  that alone made me breathe so much easier.  So basically what is left to do this month is write a bunch of deposit checks, not my favorite thing to do but then again it's so much better than paying the bills!

My to-do list for the rest of this month:

Finalize lodging options for guests (wedding is in the middle of nowhere so I'm putting deposits down on a bunch of bed and breakfasts to reserve rooms)

Figure out ceremony music and whether to hire a separate musician or see if our band can pull double duty.

Figure out transportation too and from the wedding, since I don't want anyone driving drunk.

Continue to work on DIY projects.

    Lots to do, yikes!

I have to mail out the STDs. I only made STDs for our out-of-town guests and I still need to address all of my fiance's side of the family and get them in the mail.

Here is what I have accomplished:

    • Book a venue, then find a new venue, still waiting to negotiate the contract and "book it"
    • Engagement pictures
    • 1st round of dress shoping (have a good one in mind)
    • Decide what type of centerpieces I want (tall and short)
    • Met with potential florist and got quote for ceremony flowers (Bouquets, Bouts, and Corsages)
    • Decide brown table linens
    • Guys will wear rented brown suits
    • Selected cake from Publix

Here is what I have to do, especially this month:

    • Finalize contract with new venue
    • Attempt to finalize tall diy centerpieces
    • Book a DJ (my mom is doing this)
    • Book a caterer
    • Find ways to reduce sample florist budget
    • Print and send STD
    • Pick out actual invitations

AHH that is a lot!  I was really hoping a lot of this planning could wait till the start of spring (January or later) but it really doesn't look like it!

Wow!  You ladies are impressive & inspiring!

    Done so far:

    • Booked church, took FOCCUS survey, met with priest, did pre-marital counseling
    • Booked 2nd ceremony & reception venue & wedding coordinator (for that event)
    • Created & sent StD DVDs
    • Set up Wedding website (really proud of our extra pages - fun game, intro guests)
    • Interviewed & chosen (but not officially booked) photographer
    • Chose & asked MOH & Best Man

To Do List this month - basically before Thanksgiving:

    • Hire photographer
    • SERIOUSLY WORKOUT - in preparation for 1st round of dress shopping
    • Start first round of dress shopping, for me & MOH
    • Set up planning meeting with wedding coordinator
    • Choosing venue & menu for post-church 1st reception
    • Get inspiration for invites (we want to top our DVDs)
    • Research registry stores/sites & possible gifts
    • Prep for talking with both sets of parents (we're hosting Thanksgiving & they want to talk plans - we're footing 98% of wedding bill, so this conversation requires some optimistic tact)

Love (& totally agree with) brattkatt's (and Dory's) mantra: "Just keep swimming..."
