Well, it’s official: I’m definitely a ‘waiting bee’. Here’s why…
I decided to take a little break from the boards to get some things sorted out with the B/F, and we did. We have a plan, AND a timeline… And I didn’t even have to ask for one! One evening we were out on our balcony having some drinks. He decided to light a few candles. I thought it was very romantic and the thought of engagement crossed my mind, but I returned back to sanity in a matter of seconds. We chatted for a while and the conversation slowly turned to engagement, marriage, buying a home, and having children. He said that for what we want (engagement, ring, etc.) he’ll be ready financially by “January-ish” (his exact wording for ‘January’). So I guess I will be expecting something anytime between January and March (he told me that his debt will be more than half way paid off by March, and I believe him… With all the saving and money we’ve been putting away lately).
Previously I was ‘waiting’, but it was different then because I don’t think my B/F realized that I was ‘waiting’ this bad. Now that it’s out in the open with him, it’s official: I’m a lady in waiting, and he definitely knows it!
I’m trying to keep my sanity. I don’t bring up the subject with him at all. I only talk about it with him if HE starts the conversation… Which has been quite often actually. And I’ve learned to distract myself and keep myself occupied. I feel like we’re in a good place with our relationship and I’m confident that things will work out. He knows I’m serious this time… And I think I finally got through to him because a couple nights after my ‘explosion’ with him we visited my brother for his birthday. My mom noticed that he was very very quiet and kept to himself most of the night, which is very unusual for my B/F. That told me that something got through to him when we talked and he knows I’m serious.
My name is Gwen von D and… *sigh* I am a lady in waiting.
