Congrats! I know several people who have moved to Oregon and loved it.  I’m sure you will too. πŸ™‚

Yay!  Congratulations on your impending move.  I love me some Oregon – while I love the Colorado sunshine, I often miss my previous home.  Best of luck!  πŸ™‚

Well Mr. Husky was born and raised in SW Portland.  I moved there in 2004 (away in late 2008), and have lived in NE Portland and SE Portland.  Mr. H’s brother lived in Eugene, and we’ve also spent a good deal of time on the central Oregon coast.  What areas are you considering?  I can try and give you some feedback or advice!  πŸ™‚

ETA – somehow I missed where you said Corvallis originally – oops!  My only experience with Corvallis is driving through it, and stopping at Jim’s fruit stand.  We often went to Newport, and Corvallis was our exit off the highway.  I know that’s not very helpful!  But I have know quite a few folks who went to school there, and really enjoyed their time there!

I love Corvallis.  I lived by campus but the Witham hill area is very nice.  I recently moved from Portland back south to Lebanon (close to Corvallis), where my FH has a house.  We often go to Corvallis for dinner or a beer and have season football tickets to OSU.  It’s a college town so it has a lot of character.  It’s a great town, I’m sure you’ll love it πŸ™‚
