Sigh. I’m just gonna post a screenshot and that says it all. For the record, I NEVER do Facebook fights. I think they are stupid, immature, ridiculous and pointless. But my cousin is basically saying I did something that I DID NOT DO! I hate when people accuse me of stuff that I didn’t do.
And when I try to defend myself, she doesn’t believe me. And honestly, this whole thing is embarassing for me because we both come off looking like idiots. And I can’t delete the status because I feel like that shows everyone that she was right.
So now I’m just looking for a classy way to shut the argument down and effectively prevent her from wanting to comment any further. Thoughts, anyone? Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I’m not sure if she thought I was picking an argument with my first response to her about driving like a madwoman. But I was just joking, she has a reputation in the family for being a fast and crazy driver so I didn’t mean any offense by it.
Anyway, should I just let it go and ignore her last comment? Here is the screenshot. I apologize if it’s too big, I’m not sure how to resize it.

I love how everyone adds “lol” to pretend they aren’t being snarky.
I’d just end it. You aren’t 12. You don’t need the last word.

@LadyBlackheart: Can you not just delete the original post? It’s not vital information that you posted in the first place.

@LadyBlackheart: She is coming off as kind of a b****. I think you should delete it if you want to.

Stop responding and trying to have the last word. She recalls it differantly, move on.

@stuckinwonderland: Yeah! Lotta lols… lol.
I agree though, just stop responding… your friend’s being pretty silly, no reason for her to be taking things this far but doesn’t look like you’re going to get anywhere by continuing the conversation.

I think you could conclude by saying:
“Crystal, if I had hit a man, and if he had been injured, I think both I and my insurance company would have a detailed record of such an incident occurring. It did not. It’s very possible that you may be confusing this with something that someone else may have told you about another incident that happened to another person and that the two stories may be merging together in your memory. However, I can assure you that this is not what happened in my case, and I honestly think that it’s pointless for us to keep going around in circles with this discussion. On a more positive note, I really hope that you have a great rest of your day and a wonderful weekend. :)”
How’s that? And, if she responds negatively from there, I would simply ignore it.

It’s all the snarky ‘lolling’ that would do my head in!
Seriously I think you should just delete the whole conversation. If she asks why tell her that it was beginning to make both of you look like buffoons so you are saving her from this positively bottomless hole that you’ve accidentally both been digging. If she tries to raise the argument separately in a FB status just ignore it. She’ll be the silly one.
ETA: Don’t even bother with an explanation before deleting the conversation either. She’ll just seize on it like a terrier with a rat.

@LadyBlackheart: She “remembers better than you think”…lol. She couldn’t even remember who was in the hospital when you told her the story. She is just making herself look dumb. Don’t continue it. I would just give the “thumbs up!” For my last response.

@LadyBlackheart: don’t respond again. You already gave a line that says how you don’t want to continue.

“Ok I hit him, I laughed about it too; actually, I wanted to hit him… Always hated that guy…You were right allll along :(“
Ha! JK…. Yes delete the post.

Seriously, is “you” that hard to type? Ugh I hate that.
I would just delete the whole thing if it bothers you that much.
