Weddingbee boards

My husband got major brownie points today. Monday is my birthday and we're having a few friends over for a quiet dinner. I got it in my head that I had to have this cake we had at our wedding at our late night buffet. It was SO delicious and I've been dying for an excuse to order it again, so my birthday was the perfect opportunity. I called yesterday to order it, and the girl at the bakery said they might not be making it this weekend because it's more of a summer cake. Huh?! But I want to pay you to make it for me, it's not like you won't sell it... Anyways, she seemed kind of vague about the whole thing, and I didn't like the other flavours, so I hung up disappointed.

DH called this morning, said he wanted to order their raspberry cake, they gave him the same "Well I don't know... but I'll check..." and then said yes! HOORAY! I'm so excited for my cake! Somehow that man makes the implausible happen, he's magic for stuff like this! I'm so excited for Monday!!!! LOL!

@Koala Bear: It's a raspberry cake from Frangipane Patisserie. From their website: Raspberry yogurt Bavarian filled chiffon cake decorated with a soft pink Italian meringue. Each layer brushed with Framboise syrup and raspberry jam.

You can see it on the far right with the lobster claws from our wedding :) Omg now my mouth is watering!

@Magsalot: Happy early birthday!!! I love being an October birthday because in Canada it's always Thanksgiving around my birthday, so I get my two favourite things on earth for dinner: turkey and chocolate cake :)

@Gemstone: Happy birthday to your DH! Funfetti cake is fabulous! My sister made one a while ago but added chocolate chips in. Yum!!

@MissPumpkinPie: I know. I was a little confused and the girl seemed completely disinterested in discussing it further. I'm so glad DH was able to order it today, maybe he got a different person on the phone.

@TinyTina: Seriously! I know!!! It's so great! Plus I realized this weekend I get cake three days in a row: Saturday is my uncle's party, Sunday is Thanksgiving/birthday with my family, Monday is birthday with DH and friends. HOORAY!!!! Omg I'm awful. LOL!
